so when is it wrong to stand for unfairness...
Thats exactly why you shouldn't give a flying hoot about who is eating> Come on get over it this is soooooooooooooooo ridiculous that people have to pay attention to what other people do.You control your destiny not anyone else and the fact that you have to make other people in a classroom an excuse for you failing is beyond belief. Get it together I personally do not have salisbury steaks in class but I have seen it done and I still walk out with a 98% on almost every test and have never had to complain about another person it's childish GET OVER IT YOU ARE A NURSE NOW WORRY ABOUT WHEN YOUR PATIENTS EAT!

Doing LPN program and working advice
Hey ladies I was just reading and decided to give my story:nuke:. Honestly I was in a part time LPN program and worked full time at a hospital pharmacy 40 hours and week and had clinicals every other weekend and the other weekend I had to work and having my 4 year old daugter full time also..After my first semester the anxiety attacks hit hard:eek: landed me in the hospital missed so many days of clinical that I failed the clinical:sniff: and now have to repeat it(the clinical only) before I can get to my second quarter even though I passed all my classes with straight A's:yeah:.It hurt me but my body couldn't take it anymore I kept going but my body let me know that it had enough:sstrs:.So I decided to take the last semester off to recouperate and just work and guess what I recently found out I am being laid off:bluecry1: and to me it seems like a blessing in disguise:saint: so I am now enrolled in the full time day program and will be done by march 2010:yeah: now I can just focus on school I am very happy about this because it turns out that my union 1199 and the hospital is merging to pay my unemployment and I still get 85% of my check which is amazing and I still get to keep my health benefits and finish school faster. So if you can ladies try to best to maintain good health and preserve your sanity:onbch:.I know it is impossible to say today not to work because everyone has to live especially with this economy, but if you have the option not to work then I would go that route. Good luck ladies everyone keep us posted!:stdnrsrck:

Oh please people give it a rest. From high school to college to medical assistant school to now LPN school people have been eating in class and I have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA.Some eating quietly in a class because they are obviously hungry should not deter anyone from learning.I am not making any excuses or attacking anyone on this post but please everyone just get it together and finish nursing school whether the person sitting behind you has a dam burger or not! Geeeeeeeeshhhhhhhh

Oh please people stop it.From high school to college to medical assistant school to now LPN school people have been eating in class and I have continued to maintain a 4.0 grade point average.Someone eating quietly when they are obviously hungry should not disable anyone from learning I have never heard that in my life.I am not making excuses for anyone or attacking anyone on this post but please people give it a rest and just finish nursing school whether or not someone that sits behind you has a dam burger!Geeeeeeeeeeshhhhhhh

ACLS or CPR traning?
I go to lincoln tech but the paramus campus and yes it is required by the time your clinicals begin. Also yes it must be BLS by american heart because they are saying that american heart is what the hospitals and LTC facilities require. When I started class they gave us a list of places that was american heart sponsored to call and schedule a class but I had ulreadly had mine from when I did my medical assistant course. But all my other classmates picked one on the list and it was under $100 so ask them at the next orientation.

Sorry but I agree have to agree with baby Lady on that particular subject:igtsyt:,I am not making any excuses at all for lateness or being unprofessional but sometimes being a mom can make you run late it's not an excuse it is honesty. I had a job interview 8 months ago for a hospital in NYC and the director of the department said to me how many sick calls would you say you had in your last job in a years time???:thnkg: And I answered him I said honestly I can't tell you because I have a 5 year old daughter and anything can arise and my family comes first before anything but I am more than qualified to do the job and anything else that comes with it and guess what I got the job. So it is true people have things in their lives where something comes up but you should not pay attention to anyone else just what is going on with you ,all that matters is that you are passing and moving on to the next level who cares what happens to them everyone is responsible for their own future! People walk in late to my class all the time and I just keep reading you let the teacher handle them trust me it looks like there are getting by but they are really not their grades are suffering trust me:confused:, because if a student is late frequently or absent eats all the time instead of working hard and talks during lectures there is no way that they are straight A students unless they are working with the lord himself:sstrs:. So if you can girl just beg for forgiveness :bowingpurand mind your own buisness as long as you get your license thats what matters! Good luck as long as it's not too late!:bowingpur

Lol Told you about those fractions and decimals are killer if you have been out of school for a while. But dam they got strict because when I took my entrance test last year april you were allowed to use the calculator for one section of the math.Good luck and keep me posted on what happens!

To tell you the honest truth the entrance exam is not as bad as everyone says it is.There is an english section that basically test your knowledge of understanding like reading paragraphs then answering questions or fill in the blanks for sentences. Then another language arts section that's basically similar to the english they give your specific words or phrases and asks you if it needs to be corrected or left as is and gives you multiple choices of which one you feel is the right one.The math has two sections basic algebra and math computations I beleive the math computations they let you use a calculator for but don't quote me.If you are not good with the algebra study thos fractions and decimals there were a lot of those on the test. Now as for the education it is what you make of it.This is my second module and I can't say the school is the best some of the teachers sucks but I am attending the paramus campus so I can only speak for that. But be prepared to do a lot of self study depending on your teachers just read read read and you should be able to stay on top so no matter how crappy your teacher is it won't matter because you know the material on the test.It also helps if you get along with you classmates it is a much smoother ride because you study together and help each other out you shouldn't compete because your all going for the same goal.I would be happy to answer any questions you have!As long as its not about graduation because I am nowhere near that yet
