looking for some direction

I failed 1 quarter in the lpn program at lincoln tech I came very very close to passing was told to go home study my books and I could reenter in 3 months I could return in april I went to my reenterence meeting and was told I couldnt return in april that I would have to wait til july now I been preparing very hard am soo determine I really want this should I just look st other schools thinking maybe middlesex votech they offer the lpn program any suggestions as anyone esle gone threw this

I'm an LPN with 1 semester of RN school left. I'm going to be chastised for this but, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. do what you have to do to become an RN. The jobs are dwindling down for lpns. Doctor offices only hire med techs/assistants and hospitals don't even waste time with lpns. Your basically stuck to a nursing home. My $0.2

I agree with justanlpn. Currently hospitals are moving more towards hiring a registered nurse with their BSN. Take the time at community collages to obtain the basics and transfer to an accredited university to obtain your BSN. Each person is different though and inclined to their opinion. Hope this helps.

i know and thank u i was planning to do the lpn n then do the bridge program here where i live the nursing programshave two year waiting list and am worried am not getting any younger am 31 n never been to college I would have to start from zero

I am a LPN student and I don't know where you are but unlike the other posters said, there ARE jobs for LPN's here. Many people that graduated from my program work in the hospital clinics and Doctor offices around here. I see them all the time when I go to clinical and even to my own doctor and if you just type in my zip code and LPN on a job site like monster a bunch of opportunities pop up. Do the research in your area to see what is available.

I go to Lincoln tech for lpn and I know 2 girls that failed 1 of them waited 3 months to come back instead of 6, retook professional awareness and passed. Just keep your head up and go to which ever school suits you and good luck.

there are PLENTY of jobs for LPN's not really sure why people make it seem like they are phasing them out...if that were the case they wouldn't be any LPN programs...Massachusetts has a lot of jobs for LPN's some paying as much as $30 an hour and NOT in a nursing home.....just saying :-)

You should finish the Lpn then bridge. In my school the Lpn classes are only offered once a year, so if you fail you have to wait a whole year to retake the class.

I'm considering an LPN program and I've been browsing on here. I keep seeing comments about BSN's being the only ones getting jobs. But I did a search for lpn jobs in ma and thousands came up.

Depends on where you live, pa they are phasing out LPNs in EVERY hospital and they are only keeping RNs that have their BSN, look into your area to make sure they have job openings or you will be wasting your time.

It's called magnet status and some of the hospitals in my area already have it, others are pushing for it. They've informed all the associate level rn's they have a year to get enrolled in a bsn bridge or they were going to be let go.
