I failed the TEAS V
- I failed the TEAS V
I got through the entire study guide except for some of the math. My problem is definitely math. I took biology in HS, but they taught some chemistry in the class. I took 10th grade biology in 8th grade, and 12th grade biology in 10th grade. Because of that, they didn't require me to take chemistry or physics when I transferred to public schools junior year. It could also be the fact that I graduated 8 years ago.- I failed the TEAS V
Thank you. Your response made me feel a little bit better. I've never tested well. I'd do well in class, but once I had a written test I'd score really low in some subjects. I didn't do too bad on English and Reading. But, I only got a 33 in the math. I got a 48 as my average and needed a 58 to get in. I can retake the test in 30 days, so I might try again. I really had my heart set on getting into this program. The school offers refresher courses for the test so maybe I should take the math class. I graduated HS in 2005, so I think I forgot a lot of information.- I failed the TEAS V
I feel so stupid right now. I completely failed with a 48%- Whats wrong with working in a nursing home?
I'm applying to an lpn program.. And I also don't see the problem with working in a nursing home. I feel like the elderly need quality care, and if its mostly LPN's doing that then I will be happy to work there.- Waiting on acceptance/rejection letters
I haven't officially applied yet, but won't know until the end of June.- Which nursing program should I pick?
If you got into Northeastern you should go there. I live in MA and know it's a good school. It's probably a tough program, but I have the feeling it would look great on your résumé when you try to get a job as a nurse.- Can I handle working/LPN school?
I'm planning on it. I'm a school bus driver though, and my son will be in pre-k. So, in between my morning and afternoon shifts ill be able to study. Plus nights after my son goes to bed I can study. I think it's doable if you plan ahead when you can study.- Did your school look at your high school transcripts?
The school I'm applying to needs H.S. transcripts, too. I'm nervous about that as well, because I almost didn't even graduate. I was even failing a class. Two weeks before graduation they handed the transcripts so far, and mine was 1.8. So, I did a ton of makeup work, extra credit, etc. I ended up with a diploma, but I have no idea what my final grades were. However, I'm a lot smarter than I gave myself credit for and I wish I could do it all over. I'd be an honor student if I tried hard enough back then. I'm hoping to pass the teas and give an amazing personal statement ( I'm really good at writing). All you can do is try your best.- Scheduled the TEASV!!
Thank you! I will post the results. If I pass I won't know until the end of June, but they said most people who pass will probably get in.- need some studying strategies
I'm not in nursing school yet. But when I took child psychology I read the chapters before class. I rewrote the chapter in my notebook before the test, which helped me drill it into my brain. Flash cards are great too.- Scheduled the TEASV!!
The science and math are my first priorities because they are my weaker subjects. My strong point is English( really I can write a book about nothing, and make it into a huge deal). So I plan on skimming through reading and English once I know I'm okay with the science/math portions of the study guide. I'm really nervous...- Scheduled the TEASV!!
I'm taking it on April 17th and I'm so nervous. I have the official study guide and I'm about halfway through the math and also started the science. I need to really buckle down because I'd like to get through it multiple times before I go. I have to get a 58.7 to get in.. Hopefully better.- I want to be an lpn..
I've heard that too. I know some people are very specific about where they want to work. But I would be perfectly fine if I could only get a job in a nursing home.- I want to be an lpn..
Yeah. That was just an example. But, I really don't have the desire to work in a hospital. I'd rather work in a small doctors office, or even a nursing home. I think I'm going to go through with applying to the lpn program. - I failed the TEAS V
