What help do you need? cuz i am in LPN school and I am having probelm also with pharmacology.

you're really gonna have to read, read and read. something that did help me. recording my teacher's lectrue(sorry i'm the wrost speller). and then re-listen. you'd be amazed what you missed in class as your mind was wondering or fell asleep or texting someone........oh wait is that just me?! angie

You do have to keep reading over and over until something starts to click. Time management is important in this, as well, because the turnaround time from the beginning of reading and then the test is usually very quick. Get a calender and your syllabus together to write down the dates of the exams, and then look at how much time in between that you have to study. I used to notice that we had to study for 3-4 chapters for each exam, and each exam came about two weeks apart. I used to read a chapter a day for the first three, then, re-read them and use yellow highlighters and red pens (this stood out to me better), then, rewrite things in my own words. If I had any questions, I was famous for visiting the professors during their conference hours and review the questions I had. I always answered the questions in the back of the chapter and the study guides, reading the rationales along the way. This worked well for me. Some people join study groups. That wasn't for me, but this may help you to hear another version from a different prespective. Good luck!

I made tons of note cards highlighting important areas. I also answered the questions in the back of the chapter. Pharm has always been my weak point, so I bought an NCLEX book devoted just to Pharm (Chigago Press), did pharm questions in other NCLEX books, and bought Straight As in Pharmacology to help me. I also did and still do the workbooks and study guides. This strategy got me thru LPN school, the NCLEX-PN and halfway thru RN school so far, with expectations of graduating next year.

The only thing that helps me is to keep my mind focused on the end goal: my license! There is soo much stress & drama, but as long as you stay away from all of that & study, you will do fine. :wink2: I am 4 months into my program and start clinicals next week. So excited!!

Everyone hit the nail on the head...read and re-read, get other books on the subject and see if you can better understand it. Ask questions, over and over if you have to. Talk to your professors if there is anything I have learned its that an LPN program is not a cake walk you are going to have to take initiative!!!!!
