Job search was not as difficult as i thought. That is because i was already working as a CNA in a facility and all they did was promote my position. Then, i turned in a resume online to Maxim Health staffing agency and they gave me a call the next day saying i wasnt qualified until i get a year experience, BUT they gave me an opportunity to still work with them as a nurse for their flu and wellness program. So i have an interview with them tomorrow I also got an interview next week with a hospice agency called Bliss things are looking up and i want to grab all these opportunities that come my way opportunities=experience. so i am excited

Hi guys !! It's really helpful all your comments and I want to thank everybody!!
I took my NCLEX on March 27,,,got letter 3 weeks latter and send my check on April 21...today is 5/22/13 and they haven't cash my check ...this is ridiculous to make us wait all this time after all the money and effort for more than 18 months...I heard someone took 3 months,,,I really hope it's going to take just 5 weeks most of you say...I have no more patience...

You think you've had to wait a long time? Lol, listen to this: I sent in my paperwork the last week of July, got my ATT in the middle of November, took NCLEX 3 days later, found out I passed 2 weeks after that but my file went to enforcement for a red light ticket I got 5 years ago, got approved april 23, went to Sac to get my temporary April 24, and still waiting. CA BVNPT has got to be the slowest board in the whole country. It's been 10 months since I submitted the app.

FYI: I called the BVNPT today asking what day they were processing the initial license fees, and was told April 19, so only about a week or so more for both of us hopefully

Thanks for ur reply...the thing is,,,I have no tickets,,no DUI's nothing ..there is not excuse for them to delay this much...I just hope it would be worthed this 2 years of sacrifice and waiting for the Board..
I should've done my pre req's for RN already..but whatever...
It doesn't make any sense if supposedly there is a shortage of nurses in this country to make the process so difficult...and 10 months waiting IT's ridiculous .....
Hope the best..and keep post whenever u have an answer tho!!

Don't worry. I too went through the same process. I took my test February 5th. Found out I passed March 8th. Mailed a check the next day and just received my license a week ago. I had no DUI or even a speeding ticket!!! I agree that it is ridiculous.

Has anyone paid their fee IN PERSON and received a temporary certificate to work?
I drove up to Sacramento on May 13th and paid the fee with a money order, and received a temp certificate.
The woman told me that my official number should be posted online in 3-5 weeks.
I have been checking EVERY DAY for the past 7 weeks -- NOTHING!!!!
I called and spoke to the operator on 7/2 who said my fee was processed, and should be posted in 1 week. I emailed and was told my fee was processed on June 18th, and it takes 4-6 weeks from when your fee/documents are received. (Hmmm, who's right/who's wrong?)
My temp certificate expires this weekend, and I'm afraid my official number won't be posted before that...
I have two part-time jobs lined up, and I'm sure they are going to want to verify my license soon.... OH BTW, there is NO way to verify your temporary certificate. If you look up the number online, it will pop up as someone else's name - probably a nurse who had their license suspended/revoked... THANKS BVN!!! They hold us accountable for EVERY MINOR DETAIL, but can't be held accountable themselves. What a crock.

I'm thinking about flying up to Sacramento for a temporary license. Will an employer hire me with the temp?

I recently took my Nclex PN on July 8th got my pass letter on August 1st and sent off my check and signed letter to them August 3rd. It is now September 5 and I still have no license number and they still have not cashed my check!! very frustrating.
One of my classmates recently called and got through to the bvnpt and asked how much longer and they told her they were still processing mail from July 28th. And they received her check and letter august 3rd. And said it would be another 2-4 weeks for her !
Considering she took her exam 3 weeks before I did, I'm looking at another 4-6 weeks. Ridiculous!!
I really need to start working and make some money. I heard you can get a temp license by going out to sacramento is this true? i would make the trip.. someone please answer! I have tried calling the board but I can never get through.
