negative coworkers

Hi everyone i'm Lari. I'm in a 12 month LPN program. Currently I have 4 more months left until i graduate. I work part time as a CNA at a job i've been employed at for almost 11 years. I've noticed lately that some of my co workers seem to be distant from me. It seems like their jealous because I'm going to be the person they have to report to soon. I thought these people would be happy for my accomplishments but all I seem to get is attitude and eye rolling when I come around. Has anyone experienced this at their place of employment.

I think people on here are getting the wrong ideal about me on this post . I said a few of the cnas on my floor seem to have an attitude with me every since they found out I was in nursing school. When i first started school no one at my job even knew. I used a couple of nurses as references for school but asked them not to tell anyone about me even applying to school. I have always been liked at my job by my coworkers. I am far from arrogant or think I'm better than anyone. I encouraged some of my cna friends to apply to the school I am attending. I have seen many coworkers go to nursing school and go on to become rns. I'm always happy to see someone succeed. That's why I don't understand the negativity from some coworkers I have worked with for years. I 'm going to school to better myself. Physically cna work is taking it's toll on my body. I'm been working as a cna for 17 years. I NEVER talk abut school at work. I appreciate being a cna and even after finishing school I will always be a cna in my heart. This cna title that I have has provided for me and my family for years. So don't take my post like I'm being a ******* far from it.

I understand what you guys are saying but why should I leave a job I have been at for almost 11 years because a couple people have a problem with the fact i decided to go back to school to better myself. The DON at my job told me as soon as i graduate i have a job already. Start pay for GPN IS 18.54 after I take my boards it will be 20.54. Now would you say leave this job if it was you or would you ignore these jealous ******* and make your money?

If it wasn't a problem, you wouldn't be mentioning it.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that you are being a [whatever]. What most people are saying is that employees who don't go back to school, for whatever reason, can be resentful and rude toward those that do go back to school. Like I said, you either need to ignore it or move to a new job. No matter what you do you are not going to change the attitudes of some of your coworkers.

Oh yes! You are not alone and you shouldn't pay their juvenile behavior a second thought. One could make the suggestion that these people get off their butts and do what you've done instead of moaning about someone else doing something with their life

UPDATE: Passed NCLEX 4/24/15 and I'm still working at the same facility. Life is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
