I am just arriving home from the test center that administered my NCLEX-PN examination. My exam shut off after 85 questions and I wasn't sure about the whole thing. Based on pure recollection, I... Read More

I took NCLEX-PN on December 28 and am still waiting for results since I am dealing with the California B.O.N.

This is pitiful. I would happily give them $100 to end this suspense and find out my results. However, California still operates by way of slow 'snail mail'.

CONGRATULATIONS to those of you who have passed!!!

I had a lot of priority, knowing if a certain med was giving the expected result, cultural ( diet, death rituals), the dreaded all that apply, and an awful lot of Pharmacology it seemed. Maybe that is cause I dreaded Pharm. Anyway it shut off at 85 and I passed. The only book I really studied was Saunders, I guess it helped a little, but I didn't think it helped a lot. I felt like I guessed at a lot of them, or narrowed them down through elimination. Well Good Luck, and just TRY to go in with a calm head.
I haven't found any sources on cultural death rituals, I have four review books and have seen NOTHING... but it seems like that's something to expect on the NCLEX. I'm scared!

Don't spend too much time on these little issues. It's not like you're going to get 50 questions on death rituals; in fact, you are unlikely to get questions on death rituals.

Focus on the major stuff: Maslow's hierarchy and the ABC's.

Most general med-surg textbooks have information on cultural aspects of death and dying, either in a separate chapter, or mixed in with death and dying in general. See if there is something about this in one of your med-surg books from school.
