Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

I posted a thread earlier n sadly no response. I don't know if i worded it wrong or wrong title but either way i would like to get fredback on lpn pay in ATLANTA

I got offered a job with Emory healthcare at $16.83...

Thanks for responding is that the normal payrate you encounter

Depends on experience & location. Also the company.

like the previous person said, it depends on where you work. I've been in ATL for 2 years and I was getting $20/hr at one facility working my behind off in a SNF/Rehab/LTC, and where I'm at now I started off at $17/hr and now I'm at $17.69 almost two years later in a retirement community working on their skilled floor. I have also worked at a assisted living facility PRN making $18.00/hr so it just depends.

So it's unrealistic to think that an Lpn could make $23-$24 in Atl? I'm bummed as me and my family are considering moving from Illinois to Atlanta. I Knew I would take a pay cut but 16-18 that's really low.

I have a cousin who's an LPN that lives about 30 minutes outside of Atlanta, but she commutes to work there in the city. She makes about $22 before taxes, and this is with 6 years of experience. If you don't live directly -in- Atlanta, you can make a decent middle class life if you live a little below your means. She has two children and a spouse that also earns a bit more than her, so that helps. They also have 0 debt aside from their house (they're HUGE Dave Ramsey fans haha).

Unrealistic to expect $23-$24/hour for LPN in Atlanta. Emory pays surprisingly low (I did a temp assignment in one of their medical offices--with 6 years experience in that specialty--for $13.64/hour with zero benefits. Not even employee discount on meals because I was a temp. Their offering for a permanent position was $17). I will give you a heads up--the largest allergy and asthma practice in the area (18 locations) pays rather well and only employs LPNs. Good luck and welcome to Atlanta!

Thanks for the response im looking to relocate but that's disheartening as im making 21 here in dallas..

Thanks for taking the time to respond i have to think about this now

I too am moving to georgia, end of september, but to columbus. I'm disappointed
