can i challeneg LPN Nclex with NUrsing credits in CT

hello i just finished my 4th nursing semester but dint make it by 0.89 pt to the last semester, can i challenge the LPN Nclex in the state of CT to become an LPN and branch into the nursing program elsewhere ?

I would go onto the CT BON website and see. There are some states that want one to graduate from an accredited LPN program. However, there are others who will allow one to sit for the NCLEX-PN after a certain number of college credit hours.

thanks i actually called board of nursing here in CT and yes i need to have completed an LPN program to take the Nclex

It clearly demonstrates our point. A PN licence is not a consolation prize for failed RN students, it is a different level of nursing education.

I am glad you have your answer!

The Connecticut Board of Nursing requires PN applicants to have graduated from an approved practical nursing program if you wish to attain licensing as an LPN in CT. Partial completion of a professional registered nursing program is not a sufficient substitute for education as far as the CT BON is concerned.

If you have not graduated from a practical nursing program, you do not meet CT's minimum requirements for occupational licensure as an LPN. As I previously mentioned, partial completion of a registered nursing program will not legally fulfill CT's licensing requirements; thus, the CT BON will not issue you an LPN license by examination or endorsement.

The only feasible way to work through this this issue once and for all is to graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
