Any Healthcare facilities that offer Paid apprenticeship /Internship to be a LPN?

Hello, I do not have a medical background.I am working a dead end job right now. I have my Ged.I am looking to get into the medical field as a lpn or rn . I heard there are paid apprenticeship programs. Where you get a salary as you learn the trade. I have been researching the internet and have not been able to come across any accept one in Reno NV. I am currently in Tennessee . I am looking for hospitals , nursing home ,etc that offers that. The city or state does not matter.I am willing to relocate . I do not have a promblem with signing a contract for specfic amount of time .Any info is greatly appreciated.Thank you

I haven't really heard of such a program, but that doesn't mean there is no such thing...

There are internships at my hospital, but they are available after you graduate from a state approved program. In this internship you can float between units, learning the ins and outs, or stay on one unit that is complex (like ICU). All of the internships run 6 months in length.

My cousin in Illinois attended her hospital's onsite LPN program. She did have an internship after that... Is this the kind of program you are thinking of?

Hi, and welcome to allnurses.com

Nursing is not typically taught by a traditional apprenticeship...
You must attend classes at a school that teaches nursing for a set period of time, then you begin the clinical portion of your schooling, (which is closest to an apprenticeship, but nothing like a traditional apprenticeship)

Sometimes hospitals and LTC's offer internships, but they are usually offered to nursing students.

I hope this helps.
Let me know

The school I just graduated from an LPN program that has an intern program. You start the LPN in June and leartn the fundamentals, then you autoimatically signed on with the hospital as a Nursing Assistant at the hospital or any of its outlying facilities ,you work , and come back to class after after a few months but you can still stay on and work while going to class you, graduation is in July. They also offer a scholarship.

I just ran across this web address in another post at allnurses and I thought it might be what you are looking for.
http://baycarejobs.com
Click on the right side of the screen on a link that says: Earn as you learn.
I guess this hospital group is located in Florida. If that suits you, check it out. I guess they will pay you to go to their RN and LPN schools if you sign a contract to work for them. I don't really know anything about their programs, just that I saw it posted somewhere else on allnurses.
Good luck.

Some of my classmates worked as cna's at the VA hospital (veterans) and they loved it. While they were students if they agreed to work there they were paid a full time check and only worked a few hours a week. They were also required to work when they had school breaks. Benefits were good too. It might be worth checking into.
