Okay, I got another call for an interview, and it's at Shorepointe Nursing Center, which I'm assuming is a nursing home, and they are looking to hire someone for a full-time LPN position (12 positions available actually) and they told me that I had to fill out this assessment form on medications for the elderly. I'm a little nervous that it's a quiz on medications, I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions on what medications are the most important to look over for the elderly?? I really want this job and I need your help!!

Sinemet, levothyroxin, and reglan are real popular and my facility, along with those mentioned above. So is Lomotil, come to think of it. And Roxanol. The longer I think about it...

Alarm bells should be ringing if this place has 12 positions open at one time.

This is often a major sign of understaffing and chronic employee turnover problems.

I'll be sure to ask them some questions, no worries :)

Keep in mind they will tell you ANYTHING to get you hired on. You're best bet is to corner an employee if possible and get the real scoop on what's going on there. Lord knows my facility did that to me. I didn't have my license yet when I hired on. They told me I would make $16.50 an hour to start, +$1 for 3rds once I was licensed. HA! Joke's on me! I'm getting paid $15.25 + the $1. They had even wrote it in my "file" which of course is not there now. Hmmm. I guess they saw me coming. Anyway, just watch yourself, and don't be surprised if there's a lot of smoke and mirrors.

You were right, there was a turnover...

I'm a little weary about this job, they said they would call me back if they find a position for me. I didn't think it would be so hard to get a job :(
