I graduated in December of 07', Started my first LPN position at a doctor's office at $17.00 an hour, plus a raise after training I believe. I started full-time with benefits. Not bad..Id rather work somewhere that I would enjoy my job, rather than LTC and hate my job, plus the responsibilities of many elderly lives at one time.

If someone took there test on Thursday, could they find out there results on a Saturday??

Thank you so much for your response. I really needed to hear that. I am trying to read up a little here and there on Dermatology, it's actually very interesting to me. There is quite a lot of information in this field to take in at one right now, so I am a little overwhelmed. Again, thank you for your time for your response. I didn't think anyone knew how I felt..

And I'm having a little hard time adjusting. I'm brand new to the field of dermatology, and I'm also having a hard time trying to "mingle" with these nurses who have been there for years. They are all also almost over 10-15 years older than me, with an exception of one who is a year older than me, and the other 8 years older. I also had this problem in nursing school, having a hard time not being shy with others whom are all older than me. I'm generally not really a shy person, but when it comes to all these nurses, I feel like I'm a nervous wreck going to work everyday. Does anyone know any ways to help calm my nerves, and to help adjust a little better? I feel that if I were more confident in myself, then It wouldn't be a problem. Any advice??

Please help, I'm going crazy over this wait Can someone please cheer me up, I'm so anxious I think my B/P is sky high!! I answered all the questions very honestly, and I think I am a really good employee in a general manner and potentially a great nurse.

I had one today and it was one of those interviews that had nothing to do with nursing, but more about work ethic and how you handle yourself as an employee. It was 37 minutes long, and I'm really nervous about it. It's going to give the employer an idea if she will hire me or not. I already had a floor interview yesterday and this was the last thing I had to do to see if I get the job or not. The interview was recorded and everything! She told me the facility that I was trying to become employed at will contact me within 24-48 hours!! An example question this lady asked me was "How do you handle yourself under pressure?" another, "Are you and introvert or an extrovert?" and instantly followed with a "why?" Another one was "How long do you plan on staying at the facility if hired?" I just had so much explaining to do that I was practically winded after the phone call! I'm so nervous right now about getting this job, it's the one job I want and absolutley would love to have. Anyone know what I'm talking about?? Ahhhh:crying2:

I know, it is kind of weird. I guess it's a new thing they said that they're starting. I guess that it'll help determine if I'm a "right fit" for the job. I don't know exactly how it's going to go, that's why I'm so nervous. She said it's supposed to benefit both them and me, like for example, if I decide that I don't like the job after 8 weeks of training and decide to leave, it's supposed to help determine if the job is right for me, and if I'm right for them. I'm praying I get this job, too! Thank you..

Not yet! Everything went really good. I followed a couple nurses around the place and I WANT that job so bad! I think they want to hire me, but they had to set up a phone interview today at 11:30 to see if I'm the right fit for the job. I'm actually really nervous because I want this job sooo bad! After the phone interview, theyre supposed to give me a call sometime this week. :uhoh21:

To be completely honest, I thought that becoming an LPN was very difficult due to the fact that I have never worked in the medical field, I think that if you become a STNA, it will help you out a little to get you prepared for the LPN transition. It was a very stressful year for me, but if I could go back and do it all over it again, I'd say definately :) It was worth the stress and time it took out of my life (only one year of it) to finally become a nurse.

Thank you for the good luck :) Yes I am a LPN, I passed my NCLEX-PN exam on February 4th, and have been searching everywhere for an opening position. I really wanted to work in a doctor's office in the beginning and this is the job that I absolutely WANT. A friend of mine works there right now and she graduated with me from the nursing program and she's the one getting me in there. She's been working there for 5 years I believe. I just want this job so bad! I was offered a part-time afternoon job at a LTC facility and I turned it down for this job. I am so anxious for this job!

...at a dermatologist's office about an hour away from my house. They are offering me a full-time position, and I am very excited. They only start out at $17.00 an hour, and I really don't mind. They have an office of there's that is closer to me (16 miles from my home) and I just would love the chance to transfer to that office if an available position ever pops up. I feel like this is the biggest, and best opportunity I have ever came across and I'm really nervous about this floor interview. The lady I talked to who was in charge of the hiring basically asked me the "2 best and 2 worst" qualities questions to me over the phone, and asked me what if I was interested in part-time or full-time, and of course I said full-time. It felt like she interviewed me through the phone and wants me to come in for this floor interview to follow a couple nurses and the doctor around to see if this was the job for me. Is there anyone here who has had a floor interview before?? I REALLY want this position and I'm very anxious and excited. She told me to wear a pair of kahkis and a nice shirt and that they will give me a lab coat to wear over it. I know they need nurses really bad, do you think that I have a good chance of getting this job??

Thanks for the advice. I'll turn in my resume everywhere I possibly can. When you mean follow through, do you mean calling to confirm they received my resume?? Ive had my license now for almost three weeks and I feel like I should have already started my new job..I tried one of my clinical sites, but haven't heard from them. I'm going to try the other LTC facility that I started out my first clinicals. I feel so set back
