U.S.A. Louisiana

Hey guys...I started the LSU Fall 2013 Thread and got wait listed ... haven't heard anything back from them except that all their spots are full. So I'm getting ready to apply for their spring semester. For the rest of the folks who got wait listed with me let's get to making things happen for spring! I welcome any advice or pointers. I also went through the whole interview process, if anyone has anything to share or any questions please don't hesitate to post.

@yzhang27 I think we are talking about the same thing. If we haven't heard anything from them regarding our emails to notify them by November the 8th. So hopefully we here something tomorrow because I def haven't yet lol

Silly me  I was wondering where y'all got November 8th from about the deadline for the email set up, then I read the letter again and saw it. I still haven't heard back from them yet about it

I got a email reply from them just now:

Hi,

You will be receiving an email next week from us containing your LSUHSC computer account information.

I just got an email with my account information, anyone else?

I did...I guess now just wait until orientation. Have to get my physical and shots, but nothing else I can do until then lol.

The folks who were waiting for letters did anyone hear anything back from the school?

I got mine today as well. Does anyone know if we have to get CPR certified before orientation?

Was curious about this as well because I read some conflicting information on the website, so I sent an email... CPR certification does not have to be completed before orientation but it does need to be completed before we start school. I was able to register for a class on November 30 (I'm on the northshore).

You can search for the CPR class using this form: Class Connector Search Home- American Heart Association

Then on the 'Select a Course' page, the course we need is 'BLS for Healthcare Providers'. The certification is valid for 2 years.

If y'all want to get the jump on your anatomy supplies for your first semester let me know! Nursing Anatomy Bundle (atlas, flash cards, and coloring book)

Congratulations to all of you on getting accepted to LSUHSC! Get prepared for the wild ride that is nursing school. I'm currently a SOPH I and our semester is about to wrap up. I know all of you are excited to hit the ground running, so here's my news to tell y'all that I'm selling my books from this semester. It includes:

Physiology textbook

Anatomy flash cards

Anatomy Atlas

If you're interested and want to know prices, please email me at [email protected]

Good luck!

Wow! Thank you so much for the link! (I had no idea how to sign up for the CPR class. You made my life so much easier.)

What about the ? Do we need to have that done before orientation? Thanks again! :D

Thank you!! I was wondering where to go to see about the classes being offered. I'm trying to register for a class in Slidell for December 13th to get it over with :)

What about the malpractice insurance? Do we need to have that done before orientation? Thanks again! :D

You're welcome!

I haven't heard anything about yet, but we do have to have it by the first day of classes. I imagine they will go over that with us during orientation.

If you want to go ahead and bookmark the page for it - here it is - Insurance Options available through NSO

The policy is $37 ($35 + some $2 fee) and it runs for a calendar year so I would wait until closer to January 1 to do it so it will be valid through the end of the fall 2014 semester.
