Hello Everyone!
I know I'm early but I'm super excited to begin nursing school. I was wondering if anyone else here is planning to apply to Charity for Fall 2012? Are you done with your prereqs? Taken the HESI? What's your profile score?
I have taken all of my prereqs but it has been 6 years since I took A&P II lecture/lab so I'm taking it now at Delgado. I'm taking the lecture online and I go on campus for the lab. We have only done one exercise in lab so far and I already feel like its not going to be very easy. I took the HESI on Monday and I did pretty well so I'm done with that thank God!
I calculated my profile score and if I get an A in the A&P lecture I'll have 70 points. If I get a B or C, I'll have 65 points. I'm super nervous because when I talked to the admissions lady at Charity she told me the cut off tends to be a bit higher for the Fall semester than the Spring. From reading the forum, it looks like the cut off for Spring 2012 was around a 55 so I'm worried that the cut off for Fall will be like 75!
Good luck to everyone and I hope to meet some of my future classmates!
I think its what they want us to do but its not required. I looked up all the books on Amazon and the total cost for paper back was $477. 00 which is $10.00 more than the cost of the ebooks. I dont think we will use all of those books. In one of the seminars yesterday some of the SAC members said not to buy every book on the list because you dont use them. did anyone buy there nurse pac yet? if so where?
They were not really clear at all today. I enjoyed yesterday's orientation. Today seemed like the rushed everything and didnt touch every base. That e-book is pretty cool, but know I need a smaller, but larger than my phone devive to tote to lectures. They should have let us know these things in advance. If everything is going to be on blackboard, there was not need for today's orientation!
By the way, It was nice to meet you shawn39. Its crazy how we knew each other, but didnt really know each other! lol
guys,
I have a call in to a very good friend who happens to be one of our professors for level three, to find out about the book thing...I will let you know what she tells me. I am sure it will take some time to learn the navigation for the e books, and I agree that they didn't really seem to have it together yesterday.

Wow, they are making y'all buy the ebooks?
I admit I bought them along with the printed versions for Basics and NACI, but, while cool to have on your computer, I didn't find them as useful as the salesrep made them out to be. I found myself using the real texts more than their ebook counterparts. YMMV
