Classic Image didn't have a hemostat on their list. Do you know how much it is when purchased separately?

The scrub shop (Bayou) gave me a copy of the equipment list. This is pretty much exactly what it says:

EQUIPMENT PACKAGE $49.95 (Sold Separately $64.95)

-Clinical Lite Stethoscope

-Bandage Scissors w/ Colored Handle

-Pen Light - Disposable

-Hemostat

-Blood Pressure Unit Economy

Safety Goggles +$6.95

The discounted price for the steth was $20, so hopefully you can save that!

They told me shoes MUST be 1) All White; 2) Leather; 3) Full Front and Back (no slip-ons, etc)

Bayou does give 10% off "professional priced shoes" for us. But I think I'm going to shop online and try to get a discontinued style at a clearance price.

Just saw this post today- I will be joining you all in the fall!

In regards to pre-req's, Psyc 202 needs to be completed before Maternal Child Nursing :

PSYC 202 is a pre req for Mental Health & maternal child nursing & we take mental health in the Spring (if you follow the curriculum). Yeah u can take Adult 1, because the pre reqs are fundamentals & A&P 2.

I will call them and make sure, but according to the Nursing Curriculum, the only pre-req's for both of the courses listed under the Third Semester (Mental Health and Adult I) are A&P2 and Fundamentals.

The only course listed that has Psyc 202 for a pre-req is Maternal Child nursing, which makes sense because Psyc 202 is Developmental. . .

And Clandry- the hemostats are not required. They just came in the packaged deal that the above poster had purchased. The supply list is:

Stethoscope

Bandage Scissors

Black ink pen

Penlight

Portable blood pressure cuff

Watch with second hand

Goggles (which is supposedly supplied by BRCC)

That's the way I remembered it as well. But I checked BRCC's website the other day when someone mentioned it here, and apparently it has changed. Psych 202 is now listed as a pre-req for Mental Health, which is one of the Spring classes. LINK

So if anyone hasn't taken it yet, I would schedule it on Monday, just to be safe. But it's the easiest class I've ever taken, so I wouldn't stress..

Yes it is. I've taken it already. I was telling everyone else to take it, because I herd the last nursing class had issues. They didn't realize it was a pre req for the next nursing course & waited too late to take it.

I stand corrected.

The curriculum I was given is outdated, evidently. Glad this was brought up, or else I may not have signed up for it on Monday!

I got my results back from the CBC that was done & it shows I am anemic. Is there anything in particular we have to do, if we have abnor

my results aren't back- I think if there is an abnormal- the doctor needs to make a note about whether its "stable" or a real issue. And like what treatment they are doing/recommending. But you may want to call the office and ask.

I was too. I think we just need to take iron supplements.

I spoke w/ C$&@d. He is over the "lab" portion??? He said if my labs were cleared by the doctor & he agrees that I can safely practice as a student nurse then it's okay.
