You'll want to contact the HR depts of each hospital once you start the program. I can't give you any tips from a student's perspective, but I highly recommend getting the Saunders NCLEX book to help you with your studies and exams. Most of your exams will be NCLEX-like in format. Also get the NANDA care plan book.
I know I had several students who thought they didn't really need these books at first. Once they got them, their grades improved dramatically.
Here you go- I recommend the comprehensive review, because it's more thorough. Plus, it has a disc w/practice tests, rationales for answers to the questions, etc. Good luck to you.

Here you go- you can find the books you will need for each class here. I forgot which Nsg Dx book they are using this year (sorry).

I am getting ready to start Galen in July, and I was wondering how do you go about talking to hospitals about tuition help in exchange for working for them? Is their a a certain dept to call? I now work in the Air Medical communications field so I am in contact with most hospitals in Ky at some point.
I am really looking forward to becoming an RN. What are anyone's thoughts on Galen? So far I've only heard good things. Does anyone have any tips to make things easier? I would greatly appreciate any help.
