  1. There is an agency willing to hire new grads and they mainly work with mental health facilities. The particular facility that they are hiring for right now is for clients with down syndrome. I am wondering what my nursing duties would be in a facility like this. Anyone know?
  2. Well the registration trick worked... I got my official results today on Pearson saying I passed. bonestAX: Yes, I figured that out about the KBN website. It took longer than expected for them to update my app status. And no job yet. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  3. Now, I tried the trick to see if I passed and it isn't working yet. It isn't taking me to the credit card screen or telling me that I have already scheduled an exam. The pop up says I already have an open registration. As far as official results go, how do I find out? The pamphlet they gave me at the testing center says go to pearsonvue.com/nclex to pay the $8 to see the results but I don't see that option anywhere. Any ideas?
  4. If I plan on going straight into the RN program at Galen after I finish the LPN program, I don't have to sit for boards/do provisional hrs right? I am not planning on working while in the RN program.
  5. Personally I wouldn't apply yet. I applied a quarter or two before. I also decided to wait a quarter when I was accepted and they said it was no problem.
  6. I think if it does go to 18 months the first 3 months are just going to be pre reqs... so if you already have them done you don't have to go the first three months.
  7. RUMOR FYI: Rumor going around that the RN program might be going to 18 months. I personally think that it is BS because the RN program just went from 12 months to 15 months. I doubt they are going to change it again but you never know.
  8. Galen teamed up with Indiana Wesleyan and all credits transfer there. A professor also told us that we will be NLN accredited within the next year so more schools accept the science credits!
  9. galen does have a lot more clinical time which just means you get more experience.you're gen ed courses will most likely transfer but galen doesn't start those courses until the second year in the rn program.you do have to do the lpn program first unless you already an lpn. I think that holds advantages though. I don't know why people see that as a red flag.I'm at galen in the lpn program now and I love it. I'm so glad I chose to come here.
  10. At a community college such as JCC you do need 3 pre-reqs before you can apply but a lot of students get all the non nursing courses out of the way before the start the program. At other schools such as UofL you need even more. It just depends on the school. But 3 years sounds a little long to complete pre-reqs if she is a full time student.
  11. Most places will make you put a bandage over it.
  12. That's why I was wondering if they told her what it was positive for. My best friend works for the Y and they do random drug tests and she tested positive and refused to tell her what for. Luckily her boss was friends with people in the office and it all got straightened out.
  13. I think I just posted that in the wrong thread lol.
  14. I hear ya. I think that its stupid that the friend went to the physical drunk. i think if she is that careless she doesn't deserve the prized NS student spot. But if nobody has suspected her of being intoxicated/ not sober while at school or clinical.... you can't really do anything. I am sure lots of the students in the class are smoking something lol.
