Reasons Jefferson Community College is so inexpensieve
I am graduating from jcc with my adn. I have BA from UofL in 1991. JCC is very affordable and quick way to get and ADN. JCC tuition is very inexpensive! JCC is a bare bones package to achieve an RN license. With student tuition, student receive: Upon graduation and min. hesi med/surg score of 850, JCC will submit student name to KBN for persmisson to take NCLEX. Student must be prepared to provide their own: Instruction on essential nursing critical skills preparation for Hesi preparation for NCLEX preparation/instruction on test taking strategies Some instructors provide bonuses: hostility dishonesty nonprofessionalism Yes, JCC is the best deal in town for the prepared student. The nursing department has a couple of good instructors. I hope this helps RJN

any info on Jcc and this Hesi
I go the jcc in the ADN program. Yes students must pass the med/surg hesi to graduate. in addition, students take the other hesi specialty tests like psych, ob/mother/baby, and peds. Next year, i anticipate that jcc will require students in the last semester to purchase a hesi review class. this year they tried to add it on after the begining of the semester and it was not on the syllabus. after some protest by students, the adn administration reconsidered. student believed that this requirment was a breech of contract in that according to the syllabus, students performance was based on six tests. the admin could not require this hesi course according to the syllabus. Still, the instructors are trying to bully the students into taking a proprietary course (hesi live review). What is my tuition paying for anyway? peace

JCC ADN Nursing Program
HI there. i go to jcc in the adn program. Jcc is and afordable school with some good instructors. I believe that in louisville it is the program that provides the most for your money in the end. Presently, i am not really happy with the adminstrators and other middle management, including some instructors. I see my attendance at jcc as a student, and also a customer. I am paying for services. As customer and a student i don't believe that hostility and dishonesty should be part of the services i recieve. I talk to nursing students from all over the city and all the different schools. I hear that all schools have their problems. all schools have good instructors and bad. I think that all the schools are also suffering from an aged staff and few new instructors. This problem affects my school to be sure. Get the most for your money and go to JCC. The pain in the ass is worth it!! peace

Problems with instructors
Friends: Can those that have "been there... done that..." tell me how to deal with difficult, grouchy, hateful instructors. This is my final semester. This is my second degree and second career. Honestly i have be shocked by instructor behavior. I live in Louisville kentucky and attend a community college. I know i should "keep my head down and my mouth shut"... but I wonder how this will effect future students?? I am worried that there are aspects of this profession that foster hostility to students and other unlicensed medical professionals. Help me understand. thanks somekitties
