Will I be an international nurse?

I will get in a nursing program here in the U.S. Next August I will have my B.S. in nursing from this U.S. school and I will take the license test after that. Through the studying process I will be holding a H1B visa from a job I am having. Will I be an international nurse at that time?

I am kind of ignorant about this.

Someone please inform me so that I know which categery I belong to. Thanks a lot.

Yes, or the nurse recruiter. Some have separate departments for nurse hiring.

AOS: Adjustment of Status

This is what is filed, so that you can get your EAD.

According to immigration rulings, if you are applying for a change in status for work, then you must meet the requirements beforehand, so nothing can actually be submitted for you until you graduate.

Dear Suzanne4, i have not visited my mom at home (asia) for 5 years. i feel really bad about that. i am wondering after i apply for aos whether i can go back to visit her. (i was on f1 and now i am on h1. although i can always go back to visit but i have to apply a visa again at my home country, which is really a pain. therefore, i did not go back during these years. i am wondering after i apply for aos, whether i can apply for something else (not sure the name of that thing) that i can go back to visit home without applying for a visa from my home country.)

thanks a lot.

Yes, you can go back but with only special permission. You will need advanced approval form immigration here before leaving the country. Just check with your immigration attorney to handle the documents for you. Definitely do not leave the country without it.

Specializes in PeriOp, ICU, PICU, NICU.

Coongratulations on starting the nursing program, best wishes to you. :)

Apply for an advance parole also called travel document (I131) to the USCIS. Usually it is approved within 60 days. The fee is about 165 dollars. goodluck
