What type of IELTS

World International

Hi good day!!! I just would like to ask help from you guys...I started applying as an Immigrant in Canada, and one of the requirements is to take IELTS exams. I know that being a nurse if I will apply as a worker in other countries, I should take the Academic module of IELTS. But as an Immigrant, the required module is General.

I am confused as to what module should I take? The consulting agency that's processing my papers told me that I should take the general training module. But in the review center the professor's advice is to take the academic module, for me to be able to work as a nurse in Canada.

Can somebody please help me?:cry:Will appreciate your reply soonest...

Thanks a lot!!!:nurse:

Ielts academic module for nursing licensure is valid for two years!

I don`t understand why you are taking both, first the general and afterwards the

academic module, double costs!

I did my academic module using it for my immigration, as well as for CRNBC application!

Be aware that immigration and licensure are very expensive, so if you can save

money, do it!

Seen something on the CIC website that indicates they will only accept general so some have to take both as academic may not be accepts. Will see if I can find the link later

I have noticed that too, and contacted cic whether I really need to take Ielts general module as well, although academic module is a prerequisite for nursing licensure!

Their answer was that cic will accept academic module, they just want to make sure that the correct Ielts module is chosen by applicants who don`t work in

regulated occupations.

This information was given through visa office in Berlin and I hope they know the latest guidelines!

help please. the answers here still confuses me. is there an update since the last post (aug '10). should i take GT ( for immigration) or ACADEMIC (for nsg).

thanks thanks for replies in advance.:redpinkhe:heartbeat

I don't think you will have a problem as Academic level is higher however i am not an expert and haven't had to provide proof as I applied before IELTS was required by everyone unless they took French exam as English is my main language
