Hello All Colleagues with applications in,

Just a quick note - hopefully will be helpful to others waiting for NYBON licence: they appear to be quite jammed at the moment and said they will be able to license me later this week or the beginning of the next. That would make it 4 weeks after passing the boards. Also, I just received a letter dated 06/30 - *please furnish certification of completion from an approved provider of coursework for recognition and reporting of child abuse - without this your application is incomplete*

I had completed mine the very same day the letter was sent.

This means that today, one really needs to complete the course before getting that licence in one's sweaty little hand???

Oh yes kiko..That's the next thing on my list.But for now, all I have to do is wait for the coming oath taking and get my license ( Im a june 2006 passer)CVS requires it, that is why I can't process my CVS forms yet.

so, did you read about the cvs requirement for NY licensure?

did you apply for cvs too?

Credentials Verification Service (CVS) for New York State. It's a service of CGFNS. Processing time is usually 4 to 8 months.

hey kiko, is that true? PROCESSING TIME FOR CVS is 4 to 8 months? wow i thought applying in New york is the fastest way :o .. i don't think 4 to 8 months is fast hehe. I am thinking of California, Vermont and New Mexico too.

CVS does not require a local license, they do require proof that you passed the exam, since you took it. But they do not require a local license.

You would have been numch further ahead if you did not even take the exam to begin with.

You can either submit it now, or wait until CGFNS says that your file is ready to be sent. NY will not do one thing with your application until they receive payment.

the sticky was from 16 months ago that ny was the fastest, it is no longer a sticky. back then, there were very few states that would issue you a hard license, but times have changed. and the other thing that was good about ny, is that no more documents needs to be submitted for the vsc, they could use what they had, especially good if you were no longer still living in the country where you went to school.

many states, the wait is several months, or their are other requirements that they need.

california is never good for a foreign nurse, it is usually close to 6 months to get approval, longer than ny, plus they will not let you get your results on-line, you will be waiting four weeks for it to come by snail mail.

you base where to get licensed by where you actually wish to work, not be where it is the fastest for a license. ca will not even issue you a license until you are in the us.

please take the time to do some more reading here, and look at the dates of the postings.

yeah CVS does not req a local board.i already working for my application, but i dont know what to do next, i printed the application form and send to cgfns, my question is the the other paper that i printed is the authorization for cgfns to req. for my school wer i graduated to send them my diploma/ transcript...wer do i send it?to my school or the cgfns will be the one to process that.

Hi Suzanne. Just wanna ask something hope you can help me with this? Can u help me decide? which is the best thing to do? which is the fastest? I wanna work in the States asap, is it possible?

a.get New Mexico as my initial licensure then later endorse to CAli or NY?

(they say it's the easiest and fastest way to get ATT)

b.directly apply to Cali?

( im scared to get stuck for the long waiting, they say it would took 6mos-1yr before you can get your ATT)

c. Directly apply to NY?

(the CVS needs licensure verification..Is it really needed?because in CVS application form it has 2 copies of licensure verification form there...and im not yet licensed. plus they say it would took 4-6mos for CVS before I can apply for NY-NcLEX..)

please help me....

if I should choose NewMexico as my initial licensure, is it possible to work there while waiting for the processing of endorsement? Do u know the starting pay in NewMexico?

hai,

my CVS is report is issued today. can i apply for NY BON now? or do i need to wait for the eligibility letter from NY BON? I completed my child abuse course and infection course already.

You can and need to apply now as NY will not do anything with your CVS until they receive your application and fee
