NJ Licensing for graduates of other countries

I am a graduate of BS Nursing in the Philippines. I passed my cgfns and my english proficiency exam. I am now trying to complete the documents needed for the nclex exam for new jersey. I have several concerns. First, In the application I have to pay separately for the fingerprinting. Can I just pay the $195 (application plus license fee) and the $33 (fingerprinting) at the same time so I just send the money once! It's cheaper. Second, is there an online application for BON New Jersey? My NCLEX application was online so it was easier to process it. Even payment was online. Third, The application is asking me for a transcript of records from my school at the same time asking me for a certificate from the cgfns to be sent directly to BON New Jersey to be eligible to take the test. Isn't it that passing cgfns meant that I have complied the requirements in lieu of my schooling? Isn't my cgfns certificate and my visa screen enough proof that I have all the credentials to take the nclex exam? Except of course for the fingerprinting. Please help.

The total fee of $195.00 made payable to the New Jersey Board of Nursing
(a money order or personal check is acceptable);

When the Board receives the Certification and Authorization Form for a Criminal History
Background Check, you will then receive instructions on the fingerprinting process.

they are not using online application.

just send what they require you to pass...
http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/nursing/nurse_app.pdf

There are three (3) elements that are required for licensure as a nurse in New Jersey, these include:
1. Graduation from an approved school for professional nursing or practical nursing;
2. Criminal History Background Check clearance; and
3. Passing the appropriate NCLEX licensing examination.

Please submit the following to the New Jersey Board of Nursing:
• The Official Application for Licensure by Examination;
• One (2” X 2”) passport-type photograph;
• The total fee of $195.00 made payable to the New Jersey Board of Nursing
(a money order or personal check is acceptable); and
• The Certification and Authorization Form.

“REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL NURSE” CANDIDATES EDUCATED IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY
• A certificate from the CGFNS must be sent directly to the Board of Nursing office upon your request. It must be on file before you are eligible to take the test.
• A copy of your license from the country where you acquired your education must be on file with the Board of Nursing before you are eligible to take the test.

To be able to complete your documents and be eligible to take the NCLEX, NJ BON requires that foreign graduates have their credentials evaluated by CGFNS in Philadelphia, PA. That evaluation is called a CES. It is not an exam as NJ no longer requires a CGFNS exam. For more information, you could check out cgfns's website. Good luck!

Thanks for the information. I have one more question, is it necessary to take english exam prior to NCLEX? I want to take NCLEX but my review center (KAPLAN) told me that i can't take NCLEX without TOEFL first. Is it true. I emailed NJBON but until now, no response. Will you please help me to find out, if it is true. Thanks! God Bless!
