Can I ask your advices and opinions? My 1-140 was filed March 16, 2007in Nebraska Service Center and no approval yet. I am planning to apply in Saudi under the MOH, actually we will be interviewed this coming August in the Embassy. Is it advisable that I pursue my application? usually they employ their nurses 1-2 years contract.

Please, i need your advices. Thanx a Lot! Godbless!

One more question. Do you know Nurses who worked in the MOH, that happened to buy out their contract? Do the MOH allowed them? Thank you again:)

I dunno,I haven't heard something like that in MOH but in some private agency.

Hello suzanne, yes I will be very careful about it, I will try to ask questions regarding it during our interview/exam in the Saudi embassy this August, hope they will consider it (maybe considering a 1 year contract or we could by out contract if ever visa will be available for me). By the way I directly applied to POEA and I am not under an agency. Could also suggest me on what are the necessary questions to ask them? Thank you very much!

It is not as much as what they want for working in Saudi, but what is on the contract that you signed for working in the US. That is what can cause you trouble. Some agencies are not the nicest to work under in the best of circumstances, and if they are the ones that have paid your immigration and attorney fees, they think that you belong to them. If you are not ready on the day that they want you to leave because you are in a contract in another country, they can demand immediate payment from you for all expences that they have paid out, plus for their time invested in you. This is what I am trying to explain to you.

And another thing to consider? What would you do if you find that you prefer to remain in Saudi? Can you afford the by-out on your US contract? You need to find out realistically what it involved with your US contract in terms of this, before considering another contract.

Just because someone knows of someone that has done something, you may not be getting the entire story. Please be very careful before signing any other contracts that require you for a specific amount of time if you cannot get out of it. You did sign a legal contract with the agency for the US. And it is binding.

There's no problem ,if you have that decision infact, many Nurses working under MOH at K.S.A... mostly MOH has only one (1) year contract & renewble yearly.I knew some Nurses while waiting same as your plan & at the same time they're working at K.S.A. and i guess its not wise to tell the employer regarding your application (U.S ) just don't open any topic that you're only waiting for an approval.,what you have to do is read carefully what is written on the contract before signing. What i've learned once you're w/ them then after that ,its your choice to extend or not.

Thanks for sharing that info...do you have any idea on what topic we should focus in preparation for the exam for saudi?

You mean to say you need more clinical experience?it's wise idea but just be careful.,as my reminder for you ,once you're not sure or there's confusion in you about Drs. orders always call help/attention from supervisor on duty, no matter some staff will tell ,you don't have enough experience , just answer them ..I'm just playing safe...ok goodluck to you & gemerald...take care always
