Kick your feet up!

  1. OK, we all come here, and we all talk nursing. What do you do to relax and forget about nursing for a while? Out of interest...

Good point there is more to life then just nursing, good to find out what people do for fun and or relaxation and retirement does sound like the go but I have got a way to go yet.

To relax I go bike riding (peddle power) or hang out at the gym or take my dog to the cafe to see the girls, she that is my dog is a huge hit at the cafe.

I would love to do some scrapbooking or papercraft, or even some sewing... but there's these huge lumps on my desk... oh yeah, textbooks they call them.

Though generally, I spend my time with my son, just reading his books to him... and have some mommy/son time as we both spend our time in 'school' away from each other.

Summer break I might be able to take him to the beach and to parks etc on weekends and his granma is coming to visit.

Wouldn't it be great if you could reduce the lumps on your desk into papercraft? Oops, no, thats too expensive...

Guitar...guitar sounds good. What sort of music do you play? Is it acoustic? Or electric?

I put my feet a Electro Reflexologist for 1 hour and at the same time open my email box to answer all my email from relatives and friends.:spin:

Drinks after work, a long walk, a relaxing bath (but not too often - water restrictions!), a fun read, study

I am enjoying my days off renovating my house, getting into the garden that was neglected for the year I was away doing my ENs and getting to know my kids again. Next year I'll be doing the EN to RN program so wont have time for much of anything for the next four years. Poor me!

Good idea for a thread! :spin:
Sometimes when I get home from a PM shift I feel too 'wired' to sleep. I'll go online for awhile or watch TV (quietly) or read a good book / magazine.
On days off I like to go to the gym (increasing my fitness level has me sleeping better and generally feeling healthier!!), sew / make crafty stuff; listen to music; go to the beach (in summer) or hot pools (winter); and catch up with nursing and non-nursing friends.
And after all this busy-ness I wonder why I don't manage to meet Mr Right, lol!
