IV therapy and basic CPR

i just passed the june 2006 NLE and i want to ask a few questions.

can anybody help me find any institution that offers these training besides philippine heart center (for IV) and red cross (for CPR) coz my main problem with the said institutions is that PHC offers IV training on October ( I still have to check Red Cross on when they schedule CPR training)...

i have an offer from a hospital which would start next week and i'm thinking if i should take it coz i'm still applying for NCLEX (just waiting for my license and i doubt if i would have enough time to do so when i already have a job)

and i want to know if it wise to have the trainings first before applying for a job? coz if i choose having the trainings first, i can be stuck at home doing nothing coz of the schedules of the training...

thanks in advance...

interpretation of EKGs and arrythmias are better courses compared to IV therapy classes, it will help you along the way if you plan to take ACLS and also have a better weight on your resume ..if you plan to come here in the US, these certifications are not recognized at all, save your money..BLS classes offered in the Philippines will help give you an idea on how it is done but other than that it means nothing here in US

why don't you guys attend continuing education classes? like disease prevention sorta thing classes? e.g treatment for diabetes, congestive heart failure classes, MIs, better yet care for the mechanical ventilation patients, different wound ulcers and treatment, infections, sepsis or whatever seminar there is about diseases and such from AIDS to malaria fever prevention...don't they offer those kinds of classes in the Philippines? It's more important to know different diseases, pathophysiologies, treatment and anomalies rather than IV therapy classes.

BESIDES THE NCCLEX CENTER, are there any other nursing skills trainings centers in manila/ cebu?are the courses worth it?(the course is a bit pricey) has anyone heard of Bayani's acculturation programs? are they any good? also, the trainings offered in PGH, is it hands-on or demo only? any ideas....anyone? Help.....:specs:

Just to clear things up, the reason why I'm asking for IV therapy & BLS seminars is that some of the local hospitals here require these types of certification on employment. I'm planning to work in a particular local hospital and this is one of their requirements. Cheers.

De los Santos Hospital will conduct IV training on Oct. 4,5,6 at 8am to 5pm.

I just learned that this seminar is already filled up. If anyone knows other seminars please post it here, thanks!

hello shycel!

what kind of training? is it IV or BLS? or anything?

if its IV training, i suggest that you contact ANSAP office for the schedule and venue of their IV therapy training.

or if you're looking for other training and seminars, try to visit Philippine Heart Center. They have this bulletin board which they post the list of different training and seminar schedules.

good luck! and have a nice day! ;)

do you guys know if our IV training here in the Philippines is applicable to other countries like austalia? i know that it is not acceptable to US. thanks.

hi! just want to ask if there are any BSL training this coming february. Thanks

Try calling the Phil Natl Red Cross at 920-3672 (this number is for their QC branch, im sure they can give you the number of another branch if QC is not convenient for you). I plan to train for the BLS in their Pasig chapter, I think they're doing 2 batches this January, but im sure there'll be more in the coming months. Good luck!
