International Graduate here, I would like to ask some advice.

I am a international graduate nurse. Thinking about applying for Nevada Nclex. I am planning to wave at TOEFL exam because I believe that the nursing program that I have attended had used English as the median of instructions and the books are as well written in English. So,my question is that do I first write at the BON in Nevada for this or First apply for CGFS-Ces because they are requiring the said evaluation for my subjects and also the English proficiency test.

Well yeah you got it, I mean it is case to case basis. I do have test anxiety especially when I come to think that need to have a certain score when speaking English, then I became anxious and would kinda start to tremble, it's kinda like having a nervous breakdown. If they would just listen to me and talk to me personally then there with be no problem regarding speaking this English language. and there is no IELTS center here in NEVADA so I only have one option which is the TOEFL. So what I mean here is that, whatever that makes you credible for your success in the near future you must do it, you can't be stuck onto something as always right I mean it is not realistic to take toefl 20x that's crazy. we are all unique. I hope you understand what I am trying to say right here.

Kababayans, just so you know, NV has recently started to enforce the same concurrency rules as in CA. NV is the 14th known state with the concurrency policies. There are others but not yet enforcing, but can so tomorrow or at any time they wish.

There's other topic covering on this particular matter in the "Nurse Registration" tab.

It is a gamble, there have been a few getting the ATT in NV, depends on your transcripts, but most have been denied. NV also looks for your physical assessment course and some also get denied due to lack of the hours in their clinicals.

They also made a requirement to provide the PH nursing license effective this year (Jan.) as part of the application process.

Thanks for the update. Where can I see some of the news just like this one?.:)

Actually, I'm not quite sure what you mean at the end of your response. And while I agree with you that it's not realistic to expect someone to take TOEFL 20+ times, it is also not fair and not realistic to allow someone to get licensed to practice as a nurse when they can't pass a basic English proficiency exam. Would you find it ok for me to go practice in the Philippines if I couldn't pass a test to prove I can effectively communicate in Tagalog?

What I meant in my response was to be specified that I can personally talk good in English but I do have a test anxiety problem. My response to your question is that, If you would want to work in a Philippine Hospital and I am the HR in charge and I would ask you just basic questions if you can speak in tagalog not in front of a computer thinking if what you just said with time response was good. Then if you were good in tagalog language then why not. :) I would let you work in the said hospital.

Yes, there are not only issues with the concurrency rules, but you'll find there are other problems that's within our PH schooling that can reject an application. It really depends on what comes across from your college's transcripts and what it may have or not have. We have seen those lacking clinical hours, missing courses, needing to take a physical assessment class, etc.

Here's someone's posting on AN of their denial letter due to the concurrency: [COLOR=#003366]https://www.dropbox.com/s/a8rfzr8jw2q8yvw/Anjinjan.jpg

There's some discussion that some need to take IV courses.

I just wanna ask for the people who graduated in the Philippines and are applying for CGFNS what are they're requirements for us? Do we need to verify our license?

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Depends what service you are applying for to what requirements there re. If you check out the CGFNS website it will have all relevant information for you

Oh I am sorry that question was not specific. What are the requirements of PRC before they accept and file the cgfns? do they need to verify your license? authenticate your id? I am asking this here because I have called PRC for one day DAVAO to be specific and no one is answering the phone.
