You do not need to take the local boards for the Visa Screen Certificate. what you are planning to do will work, but remember that you cannot do one thing until you have the completed set of transcripts issued, they are required for everything. The only thing that you can start with is the set of English exams.

hi there! do you plan to work in il?

I called CGFNS/ICHP long distance. They said NOPE, you dont need the local board for visa screen.

thanks to suzanne and to ethan for the info. this is often the subject of discussion among applicants.

i get confuse with this thread, why is it that they have a a form for license validation in the philippines?

this is the way i understood it:

that form for license validation is already included in the application packet for visascreen (printed form or online). if applicant for visascreen actually has a license, he has to send that form to the licensing authority. cgfns needs to know the status of applicant's license/s and if it is the subject of any disciplinary action.

now, it seems that based on the discussion here, that form need not be used if there is no license to be validated, and that cgfns/ichp does not require that a license in applicant's country of education be obtained as part of the requirements for visascreen.

If you don't have an active Phil nursing license then you won't be able to practice your profession and you won't have any work experience at all. Are there any US hospitals/facilities (for direct hiring) or any overseas employment agencies in Manila willing to hire/sponsor fresh nurse grads from the Phil without any "nursing experience"?

I'm sure someone will answer your query really soon.

Just curious though, how many years of experience do you have as a RN in the Philippines and what unit/s?

Yes. You get treated as any new grad hire would.
