What about the 26 who all passed (100%) the last NLE held in december of 2005? And what about the other schools that did not get a 100% passing rate although less than 30 graduates took the board exam? Am I smelling some crabs in here? Is there any other school in Metro-Manila that offers the combination of LOW "total fees", very high quality of education, 100% Boards passing rate, excellent facilities, strict discipline, huge parking spaces, AND a special program for 2nd coursers and working students? If you can tell me a school that has LOWER "total fees" than UMak and also possesses the above qualities, then I'll transfer to that school next sem! Thank you.

i've just recently enrolled in umak under the regis program, which is the bsn curriculum especially tailored for 2nd coursers like us, and here's the breakdown of the total fees that i paid last may 31 for this coming semester: cost per unit = p700 total # of units = 21 (with 4 lab-units) tuition fee = p14,700 (700/unit x 21 units) registration fee = p100 rle fee = 0 (since no subjects with rle, yet) affiliation fee = 0 (since no hospital duty yet) library fee = p50 med & dental fee = p50 miscellaneous fee = p1,500 laboratory fee = p2,000 (p500/lab-unit x 4 lab-units) _________________________________ total = = = = = > p18,400 i paid = = = = = > p16,560 (less 10% for cash payments) 1st semester subjects, 2006, (with 21 total units): foundations of nursing (2 lec-units + 1 lab-unit = 3 total units) science, tech, and society (3 lec-units = 3 total units) nutrition (3 lec-units = 3 total units) human anatomy & physiology (3 lec-units + 2 lab-units = 5 total units) microbiology & parasitology (3 lec-units + 1 lab-unit = 4 total units) health economics (3 lec-units = 3 total units) pros: - 100% passing rate in the philippine nursing board examinations (nle) since the first batch - the only local university (lu) fully owned, managed, and funded by the local government of makati city - the financial capital and the richest/cleanest/most peaceful/most urbanized city of the philippines - deregulated and full-autonomy status from ched, hence the regis program - excellent facilities esp. the library & huge parking spaces for cars, motorcycles, and bicycles - base hospital is the ospital ng makati, the only hospital fully owned, operated, and funded by the local government of makati city - affiliated hospitals in pasay city, pasig, quezon city, pampanga, gen. santos, etc. - saturday and sunday classes usually from 7 am to 9 pm, depending on the subjects taken - one or two weekday classes from 6-9 pm, depending on the subjects taken - only "major nursing" subjects will be taken under the regis program, minor subjects such as humanities, zoo, psych, asian civ, history, lit, etc are no longer required since most 2nd courser students have already taken these subjects in their first degree/course. - the regis program can be finished in 2, 2.5, or 3 years with a degree in b.s.nursing cons: - very competitive, a 2nd courser applicant must past the qualifying exams, interviews, and medical check-up (urinalysis, fecalysis, blood analysis, x-ray, and complete physical exam to check out for contagious diseases, use of illegal drugs, physical deformities/disorders, etc.) before he can be accepted as a bona fide student of the school and must always maintain his good health and academic standing thereafter - students will be usually required to go to gen. santos city or pampanga affiliated hospitals for the completion of their cases within 3 weeks to 1 month (so, if you're a working student, you might have to file for a leave of absence or to take a vacation leave from your company/office/work for 1 month) - strict discipline inside the campus, esp. w.r.t. uniforms & use of elevators - guards are all around the campus - medium of instruction is purely in english, both labs and lectures - you might be required to speak "english only" while inside the campus

If you don't have an active Phil nursing license then you won't be able to practice your profession and you won't have any work experience at all. Are there any US hospitals/facilities (for direct hiring) or any overseas employment agencies in Manila willing to hire/sponsor fresh nurse grads from the Phil without any "nursing experience"?
