You need to actually apply to a state for licensure as an RN, and meet their requirements before you will be permitted to sit for the exam. Please check out the stickies at the top of the International Forum for specifics as to what you need to do and know.

If you are going to need to get a visa to work in the US on your own, and do not already have a green card; you are going to need the TOEFL series or the IELTS series, not just the TOEFL exam. You need to have the speaking section of those exams as well.

Suggest that you start the process for licensure now, it will take months in any state to get the approval to even sit for the NCLEX exam. You have to get permission to sit for the NCLEX exam.

Not all states have a language requirement for licensure. It is the US government that has one for immigration purposes, so if you are going to be applying for any type of visa on your own, and not thru a spouse, then you will need English exams for that.

    Thank you for congratulations.
The whole process took me about 3 years including CES report, BON approval, ATT letter, and taking Toefl and NCLEX.May be it'll take you less time, because i prepared for exams by myself. There is no preparation courses in Belarus.
So,now i have a contract to work in North Carolina.
Good luck to you in that long and hard way.
