Truman Nursing Application Extension

Does anyone have any scoop on why Truman College suddenly, little more than a week before the application deadline, extended it for another month? On their Website there is an announcement that the deadline has been extended until March 1. However, they provide no explanation as to why (or how it will affect the decision process and timeline). I highly doubt they don't have enough applicants unless they are rethinking their entrance guidelines, which wouldn't surprise me, but would also be somewhat shady this late in the game. Just wondering if anyone knows of anything going on, or if it's just a ploy to get a bigger pool of applicants.

I spoke with Tania at the CCC. She was processing applications at the time. She said there is a committee and they were still sending out acceptance letters. They will be doing this until 2 p.m. (well, I would give it longer, considering what happened yesterday "by 4 p.m.") If you don't hear anything, you can call her. Her number is (312) 553-2983 (if that doesn't work, try 553-2976 and ask for her). Tanya has her own list, and she will look through it to see if you're in it. If not, she said she will write the name down, and they have a number of emails that have been return sender, so they will then eventually call you and I guess resend them. She will not look through anyone else's pile, and she claims there are a number of people sending out emails.

Dr. Gurney is not there today. If you have not been accepted, you will not be in any pile, and you will perhaps hear by about Friday that you have been rejected. They said that they only had to notify "ACCEPTED" students by May 2nd, and that is what they have been making an effort to do -- they were there until 1 a.m. this morning.

I think that's the gist of it. If you search for Truman College Application, I think you will see the three threads that have been active about all of this.

Unless my name is one of the last in the pile, I might have to face some bad news. Don't know exactly why, but I guess I will have to find out that information in the next few weeks.

Tanya called me back. I never received my email last night. Just received it--I got accepted into Truman. I am so wrung out at this point, I think I need to go to sleep.

I hope all of you hear soon, and if you don't (and you know you should have heard), call the CCC office and speak to them. Let them check the emails.

I just got my email of acceptance at Truman today at 4:42. :) Good luck to everyone still waiting - they're still sending emails, so don't lose hope!

I just got back from my Micro class @ Truman. Three of my class mates received acceptance emails DURING the 2 hour class. Another 3 had received acceptance emails just before class. One of my class mates talked to Dr Gurney today, she said she was personally sending emails to everyone. That's a lot of emails! If you have not gotten yours yet, don't worry, it's on it's way!
