Truman Nursing Application Extension

Does anyone have any scoop on why Truman College suddenly, little more than a week before the application deadline, extended it for another month? On their Website there is an announcement that the deadline has been extended until March 1. However, they provide no explanation as to why (or how it will affect the decision process and timeline). I highly doubt they don't have enough applicants unless they are rethinking their entrance guidelines, which wouldn't surprise me, but would also be somewhat shady this late in the game. Just wondering if anyone knows of anything going on, or if it's just a ploy to get a bigger pool of applicants.

I called Truman and they said give it till Monday now, still doing emails. Extended the acceptance deadline also, this was as of may 4th. I had a 92 total without the extra points. I just want to know if I need to look for another program.

I had 92 points, but that wasn't relevant. They are only looking at the 3 prerequisites: Bio, Chem, and Math, and the Compass Exam. Then, if they have ties, they are looking at overall GPAs. One person got in with three Bs (into Daley), so if you have anything more than that, you need to get hold of CCC. It could be you didn't get the email. Good luck.

I had a B in math (long time ago) and A's in everything else. I was a nervous wreck anyway. If you have As in the three and across the board, something has gone wrong.

Thanks go A's across the board in those and have a compass score. Did call and they misplaced my info, will call me on monday. Hope good news! Said happened with 3 to 4 other students otherwise everyone should have heard something. All this info was very helpful!!

kmccoy, they called you (ccc or Truman), or you called them? which one gave you that information?

CCC and I called them and spoke with ms Tania. She was surprised I hadn't received anything. Truman told me to give it till Monday .

Thank you for the update Kmccoy :). I sent an email to Dr. Gurney (since all my calls went to voicemail) asking for the status on my application, she replied back stating that she had sent my request to the Truman Director and to wait for her call on monday. well, at least someone will give me an answer :yawn:. Now we have to wait for the loooooooong weekend :uhoh3:

For what it is worth I will keep my fingers crossed for the both of you. No one should have to go through such an ordeal. Each and eveyone should be given a simple answer: YES or NO . With that said I sincerely beleive that both you at the end of the day WILL BE ACCEPPTED. Please dont give up hope.
