U.S.A. Illinois

Anyone from you guys have an information about this school? The second batch will start soon around August 2007. Im still devating If I'll go to this school paying more money for an LPN program instead of waiting much time to get into community college. I am pretty much sure that I wanna take LPN first than go straight to RN.

Here's the website http://www.americare.edu/

LasFresas48 - I too am interested in attending Americare b/c of their flexible hours. I am signed up to go to the information session this week but was wondering if you could tell me what part time evening hours are like? All of the other programs PCCTI, Omega, etc are evenings M-F and either Sat. or Sun. I have a committment on Thursday evenings that I can't get out of or delay for the amt. of time I'd need to be in this program and I work full time days. I was hoping there might be a part time evening program like MWF or even MTWF and I can do either day on the weekend. Any info you have and would share with me would be most appreciated!

I went to their info session last week, and the guy answer all the questions we had.

I just didnt like how he acted like a salesman the whole time but besides that the school seems legit.

Im probably going to finish my pre reqs up at Triton college then attend americare over Spring '10.

He did say they are probably going to increase the tuition cost, but thats only if they get approved for financial aid.

Hey!! Cool, I go here.

I went to an info session too when I was looking for schools last fall, and it was okay. I got lots of information and all - pretty much everything I wanted to know. It took FOREVER though because some people were asking questions he already answered. We probably could have gotten done faster if they had just payed attention the FIRST time he said stuff. Not only that, but he had some handouts, so the info was written RIGHT THERE, and they STILL asked the questions. Good luck in nursing school if you can't even hold on to THAT info.

Anyway, I ended up going here because it closer to where I live than other places. Plus the other places I went to for info were so weird. They were all secretive about stuff like tuition, and that alone is shady enough for me to NOT want to go there. Like, hello!! Why would I go to your school if you're not telling me anything!!??

So, I'm not starting the program until August probably because I need to take the entrance exam. I just finished AP1 and Math. I just started AP2 and we jumped right into quizzes and everything. My AP teacher is totally strict, but he's really good. I like the way he lectures because I don't get bored. The exams are hard though, but I guess it's not like it's blow-off class like basket-weaving, lol. You just have to study. Some of my classmates complain all the time about how he makes us read the chapters, do the homework, and study the lessons... But that's so STUPID to me because hello!!! You're taking a class!! That's the stuff you DO in school. Yeah, I don't really talk to them. They have an odd attitude and all sit in once corner of the room anyway.

I loved my math teacher too. She was really nice and really helpful. She pretty much always stayed after class for me and some other students that suck at math. She used funny problems and examples and taught us cool ways of remembering stuff. I like when teachers are like that because you can kind of tell that they want you to learn the material and relate it to how you'll use the skills in every day life.

Um... I'm hungry but I'll post more later. Hope this helps some people!!

What score do you need on the entrance exam to get in here?

60%.. its easy. i doubt anyone fails.

When I took the exam, some people failed. I felt kinda bad for them because they were older and got all discouraged.

ok so question... is this NLNAC accredited. I am so confused about this place. I was thinking about SXU LPN-BSN program if I do decide to go ahead and enroll in the americare program. SXU says that you have to have graduated from an NLNAC accredited practical nursing program. I have signed up for Americare's open house this week, I just want to know the right facts. If anyone knows this, please let me know. My family is on my case about nursing school and it is stressing me out :scrying:

nevermind I got my answer =)
