JJC (Joliet Junior College) Fall 2015

U.S.A. Illinois

Hey I don't know if a thread has already been started for this program but I am interested in applying for the February 15th deadline for the Fall 2015 start date at JJC. I haven't signed up for my TEAS yet because I don't want to pick a date that is too early or too late since I also need to begin studying but I was thinking about signing up for the Feb 2nd 4th or 5th date. If anyone else is applying to the program or is currently in the program please feel free to reply and share anything that you can. Thanks =)

Hello! Congrats on a good score! Have you heard feedback from anyone else regarding what the average scores are? I believe evening is anywhere between 4-10 and days seem to be from about 7-1. I could be slightly off. Which placement preference are you choosing?

I chose "prefer days but can do evenings". Honestly I could do either program as I have weekdays off and work on the weekends but I have the most amount of energy in the mornings lol. Im so thankful that they offer both a day and evening program. I wonder where they hold clinicals? Are you interested in the LPN program or the RN? Best of luck to both of us!!

This is actually only my first step in my journey, so I am def. interested in the RN. I chose " prefer evenings but can do days" because I am the opposite of you! With three kids, my energy is up in the afternoon as I'm still dragging in the mornings LOL. I am just so nervous about re-taking my TEAS next week and hoping that everything is enough to get in. I have NO idea what the applicants are looking like this round. I know my adviser in Sept. said that she wished I had applied to start in spring because they had an unusually low number of applicants and I would have gotten in with no problem based off their averages on the TEAS and such. What can ya do! I am actually surprised there haven't been more applicants joining our discussion on here! I don't know average gpa, number of pre-reqs done, TEAS score, etc to estimate my chances.

Didn't you say in a earlier post you got a 79.5% last time you took the TEAS? Can you just use that score you do they make you retake it? It seems like 79.5 is a great score! I would be worried about retaking it and god forbid, for some reason the new score is lower....

Hi guys! I just took my TEAS and got a 79.3% composite. I have an appointment with an adviser next week. Does anyone know what the daytime program vs evening program hours are?

Congrats on your score! I'm hoping that I do as well on thursday but I'm so nervous. How did you prepare for the test?

I did get a 79.5, but they do not round up. If you get an 80, you are guaranteed acceptance into the program, provided not every other person in the 96 or whatever spots has also scored an 80. You can re-take the test once a semester and they will use your highest score. I am just hoping to raise my score that one point to an 80 so I can worry a little less about being getting in!

I hope that the applicant pool for the fall is not as high either lol. I'm also surprised that there haven't been as many ppl replying in the thread and also I know that everytime I went to check the teas sign up dates they were rarely ever filled until like the day before

I used the TEAS study guide and did the practice tests ATI offers. Honestly, I thought the practice tests were more difficult than the actual exam.

I spoke with a nursing administrator who said they had close to 200 applicants the last go around and they accepted 72 students. Those are pretty good odds I think. Did you take your TEAS exam yet?

yeah that isn't too bad but I'm hoping I do well on the test and even the essay if I have to do that portion. I haven't taken it yet but I will this thursday at the romeoville campus

I, too, hope that applicant number is low again! I just want this so badly, and will be so heart broken if I don't make it in. I am still debating over the practice tests that ATI offers. Do you really feel they are worth it?

Yes, I do feel they are worth it but I also felt the practice tests were harder than the actual exam.
