Nurses HIPAA

So we know his name and face...but why ?
I thought he was protected by Hipaa?
This could be dangerous for him and his family.
Crowds might try to kill them because of panic.
I have seen some people threatening to attacking him.

They aren't going to get the chance. He's critical and on a vent. I think Ebola will kill him long before a mob has any chance.
If he makes it, doubt he does, but if, he should be tried for terrorism.

I hope staff at that hospital remember not to be looking at his chart... Certainly it will get audited for unauthorized access. But man, I would love to see his lab results and such!

He's died now, so I think privacy issues re fully out of the picture.

The press can report anything they feel like reporting on. They are not held to HIPAA standards.
HIPAA extends to deceased individuals too

Once your family starts being publicly photographed with a recognizable figure such as Jesse Jackson ... you've pretty much lost any claims to privacy.
