STRESSED about passing exit HESI

I take the exit HESI Jan. 8th and I am beyond stressed about it. I have been looking over practice test. I signed up for hesistudy.com and I have been looking over previous notes. I need a 850 to pass and I REALLY want to pass. Any suggestions on how to improve my chances on passing would help.

Make sure you have a good understanding of med surg...the reason I say this because if you look at how med surg books are divided it covers all the body systems and covers the lifespan. Apply critical thinking with your answers and know your role as a nurse. Review things you don't know well. Stuff you feel ok with don't waste your time studying cover stuff you are unsure of and complex issues. Understanding of various diseases. When studying meds just relatd them to the disease process which will help you remember. If you got the Hesi Review book READ READ READ look at the help hints in the books.

The HESI NCLEX study book has a bunch of hints that really helped me the first time. Our school requires a 950 I made 931 just using the HESI book.

Read the question completely before answering. Take your hand off the mouse and just read and absorb. You know this. Then look at the answers. Even if you don't know, you can narrow it down to two with no problem. Then look for what the question asks. If you still don't know, first instinct. Always. NEVER change an answer!

If you did well on the other HESI tests you will likely do well on the exit. If you go to the evolve website they will provide you with the information that you missed on the HESI tests. It ends up being a lot of paperwork but some in my class found it useful. Also, know the general gist of things... The gist of everything. Knowing meds helps a lot.

I know it's getting close now but I just wanted to say that I thought the Evolve case studies and patient reviews were pretty helpful too. The best advice I've seen though is to not change answers. Easier said than done I know but you're first instinct is usually right! Good luck. You've got this!

Thank you to everyone for all of your help. I took the Exit Hesi today and passed with a 972! I am so excited and happy for it. I can actually breathe for a minute! I will still be studying for NCLEX but it is a weight lifted off my chest!!!
