  1. I am a new grad so I can't give you what you would make but I am in St. Louis & I work at a large local system & was only started off at $20.37. And that is with already being in the system as a student nurse tech.
  2. I worked as a student nurse in St. Louis and my ending pay was $11.65. They don't pay enough at all. I'm still in the same system as an RN & now only make $20.68 an hour.
  3. Unlike everyone else, I dislike working nights. It has been a huge adjustment not only for me but also my children & husband. It is extremely tiring if you aren't a night person. I feel like a bad mom because my kids cry every time it's time for me to go to work. My husband's schedule is opposite of mine so it's like we don't get a lot of time together. I am seriously thinking about going to a nursing home instead of continuing to work in the hospital because it would be more beneficial to my young kids. Sorry to be Debbie Downer but honestly I HATE working nights.
  4. I used hesistudy.com. It's $97 but it helped tremendously. I also did Atleast 100 questions each night. Good luck!
  5. Thank you to everyone for all of your help. I took the Exit Hesi today and passed with a 972! I am so excited and happy for it. I can actually breathe for a minute! I will still be studying for NCLEX but it is a weight lifted off my chest!!!
  6. I was told that Christian started off at $20.80 as well. $19.50 wouldn't be much more than Im making as a tech.
  7. Thank you both! I will utilize all the tips everyone has to offer!
  8. Thank you so much! I will be using this advice!
  9. Cerriwin, thank you so much! I don't plan on being picky at all ?, where ever I can get in I plan on staying for at least a year. Job market hasn't really changed I know some grads who don't have jobs and I don't want to be one
  10. Thank you both!!! ChaseZ thank you for that info. I have networked quite a bit and have a few names of some floor managers, never thought to go directly to them. Thanks again. And congrats to you as well!!!
  11. I take the exit HESI Jan. 8th and I am beyond stressed about it. I have been looking over practice test. I signed up for hesistudy.com and I have been looking over previous notes. I need a 850 to pass and I REALLY want to pass. Any suggestions on how to improve my chances on passing would help.
  12. Hello, I will be graduating in March with an ADN. I will be an RN and I am starting to get extremely nervous about securing a job after graduation. I currently work as a Student Nurse Tech in one of the area hospital but I have my heart set on working with children. I want to be a NICU Nurse but I will take almost anything just to get my foot in the door and to get some experience under my belt. I have already started applying to hospitals and it is scary as well as a little discouraging when I receive the rejection letters back. If anyone has advice on what I should do to secure employment I would greatly appreciate it.
  13. I still have 8 months until I finish nursing school but as the time comes closer, I'm getting more nervous. Thanks for the tips! Im going to pass them along.
