Employees that smoke

We just introduced a new policy. Anyone who smokes can not apply for employment. Do you feel that the new smoking ban takes away from the nurse personal life?

Now a comment I under much better. These were random ideas and questions I ask my employees upon hire.

You ask the same questions you posed here during interviews?

1) for what positions?

2) why? What are you trying to discern?

Any smart professional would not disclose their identity because you never know who reads all nurse.com. Because I've worked to hard; I'm not going to put myself as risk by sharing my identity with strangers. Now if the threads are boring than I'm pretty sure adminstration will delete them, so either answer the question and keep on the topic or ignore the topics that I post.

I'm 100% that if you said "I work in a hospital (LTC facility, clinic, etc) that does/does not have such a policy" no one is going to identify you. We need some more information about the situation to provide a complete answer to the question.

On a side note, of the many dead horses that get beat on AN, this one might be the deadest. I don't want to speak for anyone else, but I don't really care to rehash the same arguments that have been made on both sides of the issue over and over again. Sorry.

No, it takes much more than just being "boring" for threads to get deleted; just look around the site. Tons of boring threads, and tons of pointless, inane, redundant questions. Yours will probably be here for the rest of eternity.

apnurserock questions sound very familiar to anothers posts. These lines of questions while interesting seem too much like an assignment type question. I think if the wording was different it might come across differently. I think these questions are good for a debate from both sides of the issue. The wording seems too much like it was an assignment.

The both claim these are "interesting" "random" questions that just came to the their mind. Maybe it is coincidence, but I find it a bit strange that 2 individuals both post a barrage of random questions…my guess is school; others think it is just pot stirring. Either way, it is a bit annoying considering the topic are either inane (down syndrome thread) or old and tired (nurses smoking).
