  1. What was your TEAS score for KCC?

Hi All,

I am curious as to what a competitive applicant has for an ATI TEAS score, GPA, prereqs. I understand the minimum TEAS was 78, but it has been temporarily lowered to 65.

Obviously, the higher the scores the better, but what does an average accepted applicant's scores look like?

What is a solid TEAS score for acceptance, do I have to score in the 90s or are scores in 70s adequate?

Do most selectees earn A's on their Zoology and MICR, or are B's competitive? Essentially, I am wondering if I should fork out additional money to retake the zoology classes to raise the B's to A's or is that an unwise use of tight funds?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Darn :( I bought the only one they had on their shelves last month. I thought they would've restocked it by now.

One of the ladies working in the bookstore is building an order to buy the polos in bulk. If you have the time I would stop by and get your name, quantity, and sizes requested onto their list.

They are running low on polo shirts at the book store if you haven't purchased one yet.

Did you get the text book bundle today?

No, I figure I am going to wait until after Christmas.

Just called about the bundle, which is the only thing I need from the bookstore. They don't even have the shipment in yet. Heads up guys

Agreed CPO! I'll wait till Christmas because that's when I'll get paid lol.

Thanks K9005. Did you try searching the individual books from the bundle on Amazon? Maybe it'll be cheaper than the bundle itself. Are you guys getting ALL new books? I was thinking about buying the Used-like new APA manual.

I tried to buy most of my books used, except for the ones that seemed to include CDs. Don't worry though, even the new books were cheaper than most of the used versions.

Early I had looked up some of the books in the bundle but couldn't find all of them, and I don't believe you can buy remaining books separately from the bookstore--they only come together in the bundle. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and wait to purchase the whole thing from UH. I'm definitely not planning to get the ebook version though.

Good idea K9005! I'll order it soon because Amazon has a free shipping special. I'm thinking about joining prime as well. Oh, and I actually found all the elsevier books on amazon, and it comes out to about 309.91 for new books, which is so much cheaper than the used bundle from UH. I'm not sure about the Fundamentals of Nursing, Multi-Media Ed Pkg, 8th ed though. Does that come with a CD?

Oooh! How exciting! I'm not sure. I wish we could find out if we will really make use of all of these add ons. I really don't want to pay for things if they won't be needed.

K9005- This seems to be an ongoing trend, certain books are mandatory for a class and they are never even referred to during the semester. I suspect that the nursing classes will be different, I doubt the teacher is afforded the leeway to teach his/her own version of a topic. The main thing that concerns me with ordering online is if the course requires online access to a publisher's web content for homework completion, which is provided as a scratch off code inside the textbook. A couple of my classes have required that access and it was not made known until you sat down for the first lecture; not that big a deal I suppose, but it could lead to last minute scrambling.

So that would mean if we buy the used bundle then there would be an extra fee to acquire those scratch off codes. I'm buying all the books from the bundle new from amazon/chegg because the total for all the books in the bundle are similar to the cost of the bookstore's bundle.

Oh man the cost are piling up. I have to keep telling myself that it's an investment. My friends that have gone through the program still have their books and haven't sold it either. Too bad they have the older editions :poop:

I was taking a Math class through HPU awhile back and I bought the $130 textbook new through the school. My daughter was taking out the trash and somehow the textbook fell off my desk into the trashcan and I had to buy another one real quick, so I bought used through Amazon. I got the exact same book for $12 and it had an unused code in the front of the book, which I could have sold for $20 or so. Sometimes the used books are better than the new ones.
