USAGPAN 2018

I noticed someone had started a thread to rally up nurses applying to the USAGPAN class starting this year so I thought I'd do the same for next year's class! I'll be speaking with a recruiter soon, but I hope to begin the application process very soon! I have about 2 years of critical care experience, just took my GRE and I'm scheduled to take my CCRN next month. I'll be doing that biochem class sometimes before June as well. Anyone else out there applying for next year's Army Nurse Anesthesia Program?

Hi MissSurge,

I have my phase two scheduled for next week and I was just wondering if you knew how many applicants there were last year in your pool?

Most of us are like you and are applying for this coming year so unfortunately I don't know. Hopefully, misssurge can answer.

Has anyone been notified that they are on an "alternate" list? I'm hearing rumors about this as well.

I'm not sure about an alternative list, but I just got an email stating I wasn't accepted. Bummer. Good luck to all that are still in the race.

I haven't heard anything at all. :(

Oh no! I'm so sorry!! Will you try again next year?

I haven't heard anything about an alternative list because from what I know there are still interviews going on until the end of next week.

Thank you, but, unfortunately, no. I'm too old for direct accession at this point. Something will work out, it always does. Right?

It sure will! Wish you the best of luck going forward!

Hi everyone. I was recently introduced to this thread by another applicant. Here's a little on my background-- I am currently a Reservist in another branch of the service and was aa adult Med/Surg ICU RN for almost 2 yrs, currently I am doing research at a hospital in LA. I completed my on-site interview a couple of weeks ago and now waiting to hear back. The most recent news I received was that I was on an alternate list, and will have an answer in mid-November. However, my recruiter(s) continue to ask for additional documents, so I am unsure of what this all means. Best wishes to all.

I would wait and see; from what I know there's a total of 50 seats available. They're still interviewing so give it some time. What documents are they asking for? You can PM if you want to keep that personal.

Hi everyone! I just found out yesterday that I was accepted as one of the VA civilian applicants for the 2018 class. I am hoping to connect with another VA student to have someone to communicate with through the EISP process (I have a feeling it may be a painful process). I am extremely excited and humbled! I know this was a very competitive year and I am sorry to those who didn't make it.
