Hello everyone... I'm posting this in hopes to calm myself a little bit.... I interviewed with the va hospital 2 weeks ago today... I've done my follow up emails to both the recruiter and manager and still no concrete word on where I stand... Pleasseee anyone how long did it take for you to hear back after the interview????

Did they ever tell you what you could have done differently? I just recently had 3 interviews with the VA one I heard back right away that I wasn't selected and 2 I'm in the period waiting to hear back for those. I hate this waiting. I had researched the VA's interview process but I still have no idea how I did. I tried to contact the first nm I interviewed with by phone and by email to see how I could do better and she never got back with me.

I don't think they ever call back to say how you did or what you could have done to improve. How long has it been since your interview?

The one I heard back on was 2 weeks ago. The others I'm waiting on were 1 week ago and a week and a half ago. The one a week and a half ago they said I was their last interview. So IDK.

Oh well you have some time then, the government kind of runs on their own time schedule and it takes forever to find out. You still have time yet I think.

I got my tentative offer today :) They said they will try to get me started within 60 days :)

LeslieAllen-congrats. I got my tentative offer in mid May and still waiting :)

This site was extremely helpful to me. I took a lot of time and prepared answers to many of the questions so I could use the time as effectively as possible. I took my questions and answers in with me. You may not prepare an answer to a question you are asked ahead of time but you will have a good sense of what might be asked by looking over that site and the 50 or 100 questions listed. Also, take your own questions and ask them. Good luck.

Update: so far the process has moved along pretty fast. I've completed my vetpro, equip, fingerprints, physical, and submitted a ton of info to the professional standards board. Now I just wait.

Interviewed almost 3 weeks ago, still waiting to hear back. I realize that this not necessarily a long wait, but perhaps there is a delay due to issues surrounding a potential government shutdown.

Ive also been worried about how a possible government shut down may affect our applications and start dates. I hope it doesn't cause delays or even worse prevent us from being hired. Although my process has been moving along smoothly with no hint of any impending problems. They said I should have my final offer within the next two weeks. Don't worry about not hearing back for 3 weeks it took me a whole month to get my tentative offer after my interview. Good luck to you.

I'm not sure about in the hiring process, but the VA has advanced appropriations so there won't be much of a reduction.
