Hello everyone... I'm posting this in hopes to calm myself a little bit.... I interviewed with the va hospital 2 weeks ago today... I've done my follow up emails to both the recruiter and manager and still no concrete word on where I stand... Pleasseee anyone how long did it take for you to hear back after the interview????

I too am waiting on a call back from the VA hospital in Birmingham, AL. It was at least 45 days before I got a call for an interview which was several weeks away. I had my interview in January which I thought went very well. I was even "referred" and told that it should take about 2 weeks or so before they make a decision. It has been a month now since I've heard anything. The waiting is murder!!!! :yuck: I am really looking forward to this job because I believe that I would love it. I did reach out to the contact person on the job announcement by email and phone, but no call back or email response. I was thinking about sending an email to the hiring manager since I still have the original email from my interview notification. What's worst is that I saw a new position posted for the job I applied for. I am a little worried, but still optimistic since they had 6 open positions. Should I send an email to the hiring manager to inquire if a decision has been made? I don't want to be a bugga-boo, but I am ready to get to work. Trying my best to remain patient. Please anyone talk me off the ledge. (lol). Seriously, any recent info would be greatly appreciated. Thx!

The last batch of hires on our unit took three weeks from interviews to tentative offers. References weren't checked until just before the offers were made because the unit was so busy. I've seen people wait months for various reasons.

I personally never respond to candidates who send thank you letters or e-mails... I'm always paranoid that I'll say something that could demonstrate favoritism. So, just because you haven't heard anything yet isn't necessarily bad news. HR won't be able to tell you anything if the manager hasn't had time to check references, etc.
