And it's so strange to see them..."59th Medical Operations Squadron, Lackland AFB, TX...Officer is allowed approximately 4 weeks of TDY enroute at the Officer Training School (OTS) Maxwell AFB, Montgomery AL to attend course MOTS-002, Commissioned Officer Training..."

I'm all official now, and I couldn't be happier. :)

It's coming along; I'm not making as much progress as I'd like to but I can do enough to go down there and pass the PFT the first time I take it, which has been my primary goal. Then I want to kick butt and show real improvement while I'm down there.

I find it hard to stay motivated sometimes, I'm a bit embarrassed to say. And I really have to push myself to work on endurance. I tend to do better in a group environment (if for no other reason to not embarrass myself). I know it sounds silly, but I made amazing progress during BMT just by pushing myself against the rest of the flight (and I was the oldest person in my flight at 24!). By the time I graduated from the AF police academy, I was running two miles in just over fifteen minutes. I'm 13 years older now, yes, but I know I can accomplish the same sort of change at COT. And I know I have to be able to do the 1.5 in 15:30 or less for my first military education course as an LT, so I know what I have to do to get there.

I'm leaving on the 16th of October; they've given me plenty of time to get down there and I'm going to take advantage of a little road trip - stop in Atlanta and treat myself to a bit of luxury at the Doubletree (active duty can stay there for fifty bucks a night!!)...

And they've given me four days to get to Texas from Montgomery, so that's also a nice amount of time.

Sounds good. The PFT advice and links that you posted have been very helpful to me and I don't go to OBLC until March. Please continue to keep us here at 'all nurses' posted on your experiences. Even though you are AF I enjoy your post and have learned from them. Best wishes- I know you must be on cloud nine right now, enjoy!
