RN responsibilities in LTC - page 4

I'm a new RN considering to apply for a position in LTC. However, I admit that I'm not very clear about the responsibilities on an RN in LTC, since it seems that most is done by aids and LVNs/LPNs... Read More

Obviously you haven't met very many, then.
If have met enough to form my opinion that LPN's and CNA's are trouble and I choose to stay away from them. I only speak to them on a professional basis and that is it.

I'm sorry that you choose to do that. You might be surprised at how friendly some of them can be.

I so badly want to put you in your place. But I am learning that some people are special and need special treatment so I will let your ignorance slide. Besides, the good nurses and aides here probably are already thinking what I am thinking and probably don't want to hear it...

    Bleh...

All that and no college degree. Please... Who needs to get in whose place??? I think the truth is none of them will have you as a friend. Work on your social skills, they are worse than mine, but Geez!!! I am BP2 with a bit of paranoia and have an excuse. What's yours???

Yeah, hmm. I went from leaving it alone to making a long drawn out comment. Please forgive me everyone else...

Sorry to the OP, I couldn't let it slide...

I beg to differ that TITLE does make the person and the profession...... LPN's and CNA's have caused me grief and agony in the workplace and they will continue to do so to others in the future. By the way, here's another smile for you.......
I beg to differ-KNOWLEDGE ,SKILLS and CRITICAL THINKING make the nurse....How many of us have worked with incompetents at all levels? They get that degree but can't apply the knowledge and have no common sense. Also-you have stated that you have been let go from a supervisory position and have had numerous problems with LPN's and CNA's=DO YOU THINK PART OF THE PROBLEM MAY LIE WITHIN ????? You can't change what you can't acknowledge...
You get back exactly what you put out there-you get what you ask for and what you deserve. You can't earn respect if you are not capable of giving it.I don't care if I am talking to a housekeeper, maintenance man,cna or the DON-if they care and strive to do their job to the best of their abilities then they have earned my respect. A certain attitude glares through your posts-we have all worked with peers like you. They have to belittle others to make themselves feel superior because deep down they are truly inferior and recognize it. I bet you are a real peach to work with---luv ya! Peace out!

LadyJ has made nothing but ignorant comments today. I feel that she will not last very long in her RN role. I value my CNAs/LPNs because I treat them how I would treat any other RN and I know they will be there to back me up. Sadly, no CNA or LPN will ever treat LadyJ the way she thinks she's entitled to because she's an RN. Its all because of her nasty attitude. Sorry, had to say it.

It's really sad when people keep stuffing their feet in their mouth and never learn to stop while they are ahead.

Every playground seems to have a bully. Don't we learn early on to ignore the bully and rise above it? :angel2:

My fellow posters: It seems most of us agree on the matter of the 'BITTER RN', the comments are horrid and disrespectful to our profession as a whole. As bad as we want to address her insults it seems we are encouraging her wrath. We really need to stop replying to her awful messages. We are beating our fingers in vain when it comes to her.
