Kennesaw State BSN Fall 2012

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello,

is there anyone out there that has applied for KSU's BSN program for Fall 2012? I know it is really early and the deadline isn't until Jan. 31, 2012, but just wanted to see if anyone will be playing the waiting game with me this early. I actually applied for the Spring 2012, but got wait-listed. I hope I get in, but the reality is that everyone I've heard of that was in my same situation didn't get in. I'll just give KSU one more try.

If you have c's or better in your English classes you should be exempt from it. I never had to take the regent's because I made A's in English. But better safe than sorry!

Hello All! I saw this post and thought I would join! I just submitted my application to KSU for Fall 2012 traditional program. I am really nervous because I don't think my scores are going to cut it. I made 2 B's in A&P, an A in Micro, and another B in chem. I made virtually all A's in everything else, ( GPA around a 3.3 because of some bad grades from a previous semester.)I also only made an 81 on my TEAS, which I wasn't happy about. :( I'm trying not to get my hopes up, since I have heard it is extremely competitive and they pretty much take students will all A's in the sciences. I am currently taking my last course required, Chem2.

Anyone else in the same boat? I am trying not to set myself up for disappointment. I am applying to other schools to be safe, but really want to go through KSU's program.

ADean214...those grades aren't bad! I think the KSU program prefers a TEAS score of 85 or above and you're almost there...have you considered retaking the TEAS? It might increase your chances of being accepted.

Hello All,

I have been reading all the posts and I think we are all nervous. I am extremely stressed about getting in. I have a 3.76 GPA and a 4.0 math & science GPA, but on my first attempt at the TEAS I scored a 72. I retake it this week and then will apply right after. I know that the TEAS is only 1/3 of what they look at, but I am afraid I won't score high enough. I DO NOT do well on standardized tests. I am also applying to Emory and GA state as well, but KSU is the most convenient. I would love to go to Emory if I get in, but not sure the commute and the cost are worth it. Ahhhh it's all so overwhelming. The good news is my 2 study partners from this past year just started nursing school @ KSU and both got accepted their 1st time. They have the exact same GPAs as me, but one scored an 85 on the TEAS and the other scored a 91. That's what freaks me out is my TEAS score...

I sat down with Fran and got a much clearer understanding of the process. First, there is no magic number for the TEAS. 85 was the average score last semester, but they accepted people with scores in the 70's and in the 90's. It is a more holistic type of acceptance, according to Fran. If you accelerated in one or two areas, you will compensate for another area which may not be as good. I also took her advice and looked up behavioral interviews on the internet. I am much clearer about what is expected of me. It was also refreshing to hear he say that most students who apply do not have a 4.0 gpa, all A's in the prerequisites, and high 90's on the TEAS. Who tells us these lies? I say, if you are worried, call Fran. Oh yes, she told me they might start a TEAS review course in their continuing education program. Wish I would have had it before I took the test.

lucky you got to talk to her! Whenever i call she's unavailable :( I would LOVE to talk with her too....how did you set up an appointment with her (phone or otherwise)?

last day for the application!! Woo hoo! Good luck everyone!!!

yay! good luck :)

ksutoo....great post! Thanks for letting all of us know. I don't know about anyone else, but I feel like whenever I ask anyone about the teas or gpas, I get more freaked out because they tell me scores of 95% or that no one gets in without basiclly being perfect. So, your post gave me a lot of relief!

KSUTOO.....I agree with you as well. From all the posts I have read here and on other threads about Kennesaw the process is very holistic. From my understanding they look at your overall GPA, your best 5 of 7 math/science gpa, your best 7 of 9 pre-requesites, your TEAS score and your interview. From all the other posts and threads I have read, my understandig is the interview is huge. Does anyone know when the interview and acceptance letters go out? Thanks ladies and best of luck to all of us :D.

@dupree0609

One of the ladies at KSU told me letters would go out the first week of April, letting you know if you got an interview or not. It's going to be a long two months!

Hi Karamarie91,

What is the mock interview? Is this free to join? How do I find out about this? Thanks for your infor.
