Hello Nurses,

Which drug book would you recommend to a nursing student? I am having trouble deciding on which book would be more helpful "Davis' Drug Guide for Nurses" or "Mosby's Nursing Drug Reference." What do you guys think?

Thank You.

Mosbys is what I prefer. But frankly I would skip book and get micromedex app for the phone.

Specializes in ED.

I'm wondering the same thing. Is a book worth it when you can just google?

well i just found another book "Saunders Nursing Drug Handbook 2015" and that sounds like its much easier to understand than Davis.

I like Epocrates.

Specializes in Education, FP, LNC, Forensics, ED, OB.

I have Mosby (book) & Micromedex (app). The app I use in the hospital, and I use the book for careplans and studying. I like the Mosby book a lot better because it's more detailed in my opinion.

I just bought the Saunders Nursing Drug Handbook 2015, only because it was recommended by my school.

Maybe I should see if my professor for pharmacology has one recommended for class.

That's probably a good idea...mine was on our booklist under the recommended section.

our bookstore doesn't have a drug book in the list of books for my nursing classes, and I really don't want to wait until Aug 24th when classes start because I have an amazon gift card balance I would like to use soon.
