Okay I am expecting an acceptance/rejection letter anytime now and i am sooooo antsy. What i would like to know is, is there a certain type of envelope an acceptance letter comes in and a certain one a rejection letter comes in? I dont want to expect to get accepted and then open up and read the letter and actually read that i was rejected. So can anybody out there shed some light on this matter?

How on earth would we know? Just do like everyone else and wait.Why do people always post on here about "when will my letter come and will I get in?"

Back in the day, they used to say that bigger envelopes were acceptance letters, and "regular" envelopes were rejection letters. However, with the technology advances, most schools don't send out big packets anymore because you can fill everything out online and it saves them money. The school I just got into didn't even send a letter in the mail at all...all I got was an acceptance e-mail. So, unfortunately, it's hard to answer your question.

As jocy_anne said, the acceptance/rejection letters usually come via e-mail now. The first time I got rejected was via an e-mail. When I got accepted into nursing school, I first got the e-mail that said congratulations and then about a week later, the big packet came. It might also depend on what the school does, but I think it is mostly e-mail now.

Thanks jocy_anne that's all i was asking, emailing acceptance/rejection letters makes sense though

When I got my first letter it was a Rejected letter the envelope was thin only stating I didn't get in. About two weeks later I got a letter from my 2nd choice school and the envelope (my mom brought it to my room and laid it on my bed) was really thick I didn't bother opening it at first cause I thought it was too early to read I had got rejected from another school so I opened it around 2pm after class and it read congratulations you've been accepted so and so on. Hope that ease your mind a bit

I agree with some others... A thin envelope usually is a bad sign. In my experience, the thicker the better. The school I got accepted to sent a very thick acceptance packet. (We didn't get an email beforehand)

I got a big white envelope with the school logo on it. I knew I got when I saw it. They wouldn't waste all that paper and evelope space to say "sorry, not good enough" I have had friends who got the "we're sorry, but you were not selected to... That envelope was a regular size envelope with a single sheet of paper.
