  1. Today was a day where I laughed at myself over my growing frustration with this job market. I felt like doing the frustrated punch dancing scene from Footloose with Kevin Bacon. I just have to laugh and keep plugging away at this point...
  2. My interview went pretty much exactly the same as ADEcstatic. They told me the same time frame and amount of people being interviewed.
  3. This is what I was told and remember... -Official transcripts -2 Reference letters/ Letters of rec: 1 personal and 1 from clinical instructor -Originals of RN License, ACLS, BLS...any others -Resume
  4. Thanks! I'm not an internal candidate. I turned my application as soon as it came up on the website...the 26th I think. My interview is Monday 8am. I pray it goes well...we shall see!
  5. I just got called for an interview!!
  6. I took NCLEX-RN on Oct 18 and my license posted by the 26th on BreEZe. I thought it was going to take 2 or 3 weeks like other people and was really surprised when my license popped up a week later. Thank goodness the PVT and getting the "good pop up" kept my anxiety down.
  7. thankful77, I tried responding to your PM and the site says I can't. Maybe you have to unlock that function so that I can send you PM, not sure...
  8. Congrats to those who have been accepted! Get ready to eat, sleep, breath nursing.
  9. If the application date was June 3rd, you guys should be hearing about interview invites soon through email.
  10. You are required to take the TEAS V during the first few weeks of the core nursing courses after you complete the online theology courses. So, for the summer cohort which starts in August you would take it sometime during your first couple weeks of class. They also require you to take a critical thinking exam. Both tests are only for the staff to help further evaluate students. The TEAS and the critical thinking test DO NOT have grades or any real importance. Just get through them and get ready for the actual nursing classes. Congrats again to those accepted. Get ready for the "fun" to start quickly after the theology courses end.
  11. The program so far has been intense. First semester is jam packed and you are fighting to find time to do everything. Our little motto (thanks doulajess) was "surviving is thriving" without rambling on, the workload will push you to your limits. The professors are willing to help and will make time to help. At times they contact you before you contact them if you are struggling. As far as the overall experience it boils down to the people I am with on this journey. The members of my cohort have become my school family. They are people I rely on and count on to make it through. I had some rough days and it was the good friends I made in my cohort that helped get me through. I would suggest doing the same with yours. You will lean on eachother and need eachother when you need a boost. I love my wife and child and they are the reason I fight everyday for this goal, but it's these people in the trenches that make it bearable. See, I knew I would ramble.
  12. Personally, I have seen many Concordia grads at most of my clinical sites. From what I seen and the people I have talked to Concordia grads are not having that difficult of a time finding jobs.
