What does your uniform look like? - page 2

I'm not in clinicals yet, but just wondering. Also, do you pick what you want as long as it's white, or whatever, or do you have a specific uniform? And shoes? I really don't care what I wear, but... Read More

We have white pants and white shirt or a white dress with white underwear, white hose and white shoes. I can deal with all white, but then we have to wear a piniform that is blue and white striped and it looks like a candy striper. Oh well.

Add a navy blue vest, and I would think that came from our handbook. We even use Dove. I don't really mind it except that the vest is SO heavy I sweat from the moment I put it on. i can't for the life of me figure out why the school thinks it is professional to be sweating like a pig in a heat wave while you are trying to give care.

We have to wear maroon or wine colored pants (or skirt) with a white scrub top with the school patch on the left sleeve. We also must have a lab coat w/ patch for preclinical days. Shoes must be white nursing shoes or low top athletic shoes with no colored trim. We also have the option of wearing a white or navy sweater or scrub jacket w/patch.

We had the option of ordering uniforms through our NSA or we could find them elsewhere. For convenience I went ahead and ordered mine.

I wish you the best of luck. I graduate Aug. 19th. It seems like I just started sometimes. It's a scary and good feeling all at the same time to be almost done. Our last term deals with management and community health nursing. Our class has lost half of its original members due to various reasons. Do you have a area of nursing that you're particularly interested in?
I don't think I'll decide what area until I start clinicals and get to experience everything. Right now, my interests are lactation nurse, school nurse, surgery, or oncology.

We have to wear royal blue scrubs, embroidered with school name. We also must have long white lab coat (embroidered) and warm-up jacket (embroidered). I've only seen the uniforms in the brochures from the school (I've ordered mine, but haven't gotten them yet), and they look okay.

Wow, I'm envious of a lot of you. We have to wear all white, plus a white lab coat. It is NOT conducive to work!! Bodily fluids and white just don't like each other. :chuckle The lab coat can get in the way, but I do love the pockets. They come in very handy. Wish that we could wear colors.

At our school we get to wear any kind of ceil blue scrubs with white shoes. I love it! We look good. My bottoms are flares from Barco and they're very comfortable. I'm so happy we don't have to wear white; I'd rather not look like a marshmallow.

No idea what we'll have to wear since I haven't been accepted yet. But, my wife (a nurse) has assured me that, in her words "You're gonna look like a dork." Yahoo, can't wait!

    -Maroon polo with school logo
-White lab coat with school patch and name badge
-White scrub pants (at least we're able to get these wherever we want!)
    -White shoes

I envy you guys for being able to wear scrubs!!!

Ours isn't so bad...white pants (which I hate), teal polo shirt with school logo and a white lab coat with teal accents. All in all I've actually received many complements on how professional it looks.

Think 'Cafeteria Lunch Lady' and all we're missing is the hair net....white uniform with a double breasted apron sort of thing that buttons on the front of the top and zips in the back...oh yes, must not forget the teal piping too.... ahh...can't wait to be finished!

Oh yeah, and we had to order 2 of them at $55 each...we can wear any pair of white pants.
