Other than the usual books, pens, notebooks what are some of the odd things you put in your backpack? Some of the answers should be fun. I am so neurotic when it comes to packing my backpack. I pack it up 3 weeks b4 school starts, and probably check it 100 times b4 the first day of class. I always make sure i have cough drops, gum, lotion, and $10.00 for my emergency gas or luch fund. How about you guys?

OK OK... this is a fun thread!

EXCEDRIN (which all my friends know about and use)

Change and a few dollars (for emergency hunger pains or copies)

I do have a rolling backpack, and I love it! I'm going to get a new one this year though. The one I have is kinda cheap and the wheels are really loud! I'm going to get one with rubber in-line wheels. Also, I would get one with an extra wide base. The one I have is only 5" wide on the bottom and when you set it down it tips over (forward!) I hate that! My friend has one that is at least 10" wide and hers never tips.

Great thread! Its like "find out the kind of person you are by what you put in your back pack!" quiz! LOL

I actually didn't spend the money on a rolling back-pack. When I was in high-school, I did a lot of traveling and my parents bought me a full set of luggage. I just use the smallest one on wheels. Our school looks like an airport terminal at 7:30 in the morning...almost everyone has bags on wheels! Some even have pretty large suitcases!

As for my bag...oh lordy..I'm like the poster...I am always WAY over packed!

At least 10 pens in many colors and styles

5-6 pencils

Extra erasers

Nurses Kit (pen light, scissors, holder)

Stethoscope

Roll of Tape

hole puncher that fits in my binder

All the books for scool (duh)

Extra paper

folders

Note cards and file box

10 bucks

gum/mints

hair clips/pony tail holders

hairbrush

hairspray (travel size)

lotion

the biggest bottle of water you will ever see on the planet

band-aids

and of course...candy wrappers that were shoved in there after my snack that I wasn't supposed to have during class =0)

I also keep an emergency pack in my car in case I'm ever stranded. It has a change of clothes (complete with bra and undies) a cig and lighter (I'm an ex smoker...but if I'm ever stranded in the middle of no-where I know I'll want one) 20 dollars, and a flashlight.

Its actually come in handy when I spilled a drink down my shirt on a dress-down day!! =0)

I'm starting to think I'm a little TOO prepared! =0) I have a grandma-sized purse too!! it has everything else in it! I'm the one at school that is someone needs something...I have it...

golf balls????

I'm doing my pre-reqs via correspondence, so I dont have a "bag" but I sure do have a "drawer"!!

In it I have:

pens/pencils/markers/highlighters/crayons

extra paper

Dora the Explorer stickers (a gift from my kids for when I do well!)

roll of tape

envelopes

index cards

various coupons (subway, diaper)

pretty boring I suppose!:D What a cute thread!

oh oh oh... I forgot, I ALWAYS have a photo of my boys and DH in each of my 3 ring binders to use as MOTIVATION...SUPPORT...and a general "We believe in you MOM" when Im feeling blue.

Right now in my bag I have:

Anatomy and Physiology book (must weigh 20 pds)

Anatomy and Physiology Lab book (10 pds)

Gloves

Vanilla extract & Cotton balls (to help with smell from sheep heart and the cat)

Index Cards (for flash cards form my tests)

Markers (to make the flash cards more interesting)

colored pencils (for anatomy coloring book)

Millions of pens (I have a pen fetish)

Binder

World religions book

Slim fast meal bar (some classes are way long and the break isn't long enough for a full meal)

Water bottle

Mints

Tampons

Tape recorder

extra tapes and batteries

cell phone
