Hi :D

Sorry if this question is really weird or random..lol

I'm just curious, what bags do u guys bring to school?

Do u bring tote bag, backpack or rolling ones?

I'm starting next week, and i dunno what kind of bag to get yet.

Any suggestions?:p

Also, do u guys bring ur books? leave it on lockers? or just don't bring it at all?

thanks ;)

I had to lug around a 15-lb. textbook to nearly every class (yes, I weighed it) and I kind of like my spine and shoulders, so I got my dork on and went with a big rolling computer bag. Yes, you could always hear me coming and it wasn't very stylish, but it was a lifesaver.

For lectures with HUGE books I use an old Columbia bookbag that I have had forever. It has tons of pockets, comfy straps, and soooo durable! For classes where it's more of a workbook type deal I have a COACH tote that I use and LOVE. :heartbeat

I just used a big tote bag... and I regretted it everyday as I lugged my 900lb textbooks around. Lots of people in my class had the rolling bags and I think it was a wise choice. Especially if you are going to bring a laptop, textbooks, lunch to school like I did.

CuriousMe- did you try downloading the app called coursesmart? It is the best one for downloading textbooks that I have found, good prices and they have a highlight feature, and a feature where you can add sticky notes. Then if you want you can print out the page you added a lot of notes too or highlighted. Its great!!

Nope, I'll stick to my tablet. I can write lots of notes or highlight my e-text directly on my tablet with it's pen (stylus) in any color I can invent. I can also write on my Prof's PowerPoint slides and take notes that way. My whole point is to NOT have to print it out. If I wanted paper....I'd buy the book.

I was excited about the iPad, until I found out they didn't give me the ability to write on the dang thing. Who's ever heard of a pad that you couldn't write on?

CuriousMe- yeah, I understand. That is a nice feature. Im trying to bring as little stuff to class with me as possible. When I discovered our Med-Surg book this semester weighs probably 20lbs I started looking into buying it online- and it was $50 something cheaper- And I can read it on my mac, iphone, or ipad with or without internet. I do understand the not being able to write on it factor- this doesn't really bother me as I usually type everything up anyway but- to each is own :)

lol!

you will need your books. most of my classes expect that you have the text with you, but i commute, so if i have a few classes, i'll leave 'em in my car. but be prepared...i had to buy...yes..purchase a new bookcase for all of my nursing books. some days you may have to carry a ton just for reference, depending on what you have that day.

ps. i use a tote on most days, puma has really cute "school" type bags that are both fashion friendly and functional

a good, padded backpack. we just bring our laptops and notes, as all of our books are through a company called evolve, and once we purchased our books we were able to download each entire book onto our laptops.

we only certain bring books when specifically asked to by our instructors.

Nearly everyone in my program had invested in rolling bags of some sort by halfway through first semester. I finally found one I liked and still use it, though most people not in programs at school don't seem to use rolling bags.

You can tell whose in the LVN program at my school by their bags and comfort level on campus. It's kinda funny, really.

I have two bags. One with wheels for when I need to take multiple books, like my peds rotation, where I need my med surg book and my peds book and the peds book is huge. When I have respitatory, I will probably use the rolling one, depends on how big the book is. When I have psych, my normal bag.

I use a 14 year old Jansport backpack I bought freshman year at Ohio State.

Ha, that's about like mine. It's served me well over the decade.

I use a regular backpack, but a lot of girls in my class use the rolling backpacks.
